About Beyond Divinity

✦ AI summary

Bond with a Death Knight cursed to your soul and explore a vast world across four epic acts in this 60+ hour RPG featuring classless character development with 290 skills and pausable tactical combat. The standout charm lies in its inventive crafting system where you can brew potions, poison weapons, and create traps by combining hundreds of interactive objects scattered throughout the world.

Beyond Divinity is the follow-up to the award-winning Divine Divinity. Soul-forged with a Death Knight, your fate is to spend the rest of eternity bonded to this creature of evil, unless you can undo his curse...prepare for your greatest adventure!

This new re-mastered version offers support for Windows 7 and higher resolutions.

Key Features:

  • An RPG of Epic Proportions: Experience an adventure that will last you over 60 hours, filled with tons of non-linear quests and offering an enormous world to explore, spread over 4 story acts. And if that’s not enough for you, you can always enter the Battlefields - a randomly generated universe filled with loot, enemies and new quests.
  • Classless Character Development: You decide what kind of character you want to be! An open, class-free character development system with over 30 character traits and 290 skills to learn, including advanced alchemy, craftsmanship, trap creation and many others.
  • Work together to emerge victorious: You can seamlessly switch control between your avatar and the Death Knight. In combat, you can pause the game at will and take your time to issue commands to each party member. Summoning dolls allows you to increase your party size even further.
  • Interaction Galore: Discover the enormous amount of objects that can be investigated, traded, used and combined. Found some empty flasks and picked up some colourful mushrooms? Create potions! Obtained some vile-smelling poison? Daub it on your blade or arrow tips: your foes won't know what hit 'em!
  • Award-winning Soundtrack Enjoy the dulcet melodies composed by Kirill Pokrovsky, the two-time winner of IGN’s "Outstanding Achievement in Music" award.

no. there is a weird thing about this game's graphics that hurts your eyes. my dad, brother and i hung out and played this game at the same time years ago when we were on a divinity kick and we ALL had issues with our eyes hurting during and after playing. i don't know why this is but this is the only game where i have ever experienced something crazy like this before. the gameplay is a lot like divine divinity but somehow worse, and also the story is not crucial to the other games. i would not recommend this game, i actually only finished it because im crazy.

just another larian disaster of a game.. where the devs want you to play their game THEIR way.. instead of just allowing you to enjoy a game.. they MANDATE you find every little thing and replay it again and again until you get your character into the ONLY mold that will work.. warrior for knight and wizard + fire for protagonist (with maxed int).. I could not get anything else to work.. which is PATHETIC! fergus regens all the time and you have no chance without the burst damage.. can NOT recommend this pathetic game.. let alone the fact that its old and the graphics poor.. and the game play is some of the worst I've ever had to endure.. and and and... horrid horrid game but the final nail was the fact that they REQUIRE you to take a seemingly unimportant item lying about in a room, all the way through multiple levels in order to complete a chapter is beyond idioacy! I can NOT stress this enough.. these devs are MORONS!

Back in the 2000s played a lot of divine divinity and later divinity 2 and that was the series to me. Makes sense right? Two games - one of them called divinity 2 (though the naming scheme is still messy) Well later i found out about beyond divinity and after replaying divine divinity recently i finally installed this game. I have always prefered divine divinity over ego draconis so this was kind of a treat. I mean yes it is deeply flawed. While the opening is intriguing as soon as i heard the death knghts voice acing i knew i would've preferred this was not their first fully voice acted game. The sad thing is it didn't have to be like this - apparently in the demo the death knight had a different actor. and its just unfortunate... In the very end of the game there actually is a sequence where the far superior more mellow performance was left in probably because the new VA never recorded those lines - theres a few other lines missing towards the end as well. I mean some of the voice acting is great tho. I enjoyed a lot of the imps in particular. The main gimmick of this game is that your character and the goofy screaming death knight are linked and if one dies - BOTH DIE and i m…

The game has a fairly unique mechanic for controlling your two characters and really feals like a contemporary to other RPG games of this era. The only "ïssues" I have with the game are the number of Skills that you need to aquire to get fairly basic things done, and with only gaining two skill points a level (one for each character) it can really feel like it is taking forever to build your characters the way that you'd prefer. Still recommend the game if you have the time and patience for a beautiful, and large, RPG game.
