Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition

The game itself is fine, you know what it is. The negative review is for the Ubisoft Connect misery onm Linux. I came back to game after two months and now this piece of malware of a launcher just wont run. I could bring it to a white rectangle in Heroic but thats it. You can argue that Linux is not officially supported, but I consider Windows a malware, too, so that is that.

Im not having any connection issues with Ubisoft at all. No performance issues, no lagg, no stutters (maybe lower your resolutions a bit?) Its working like a charm and im enjoying the game as i was enjoying it on the gamecube when it first came out. Just two giggling elementairy kids who where engrossed into the old school games of those times. Pure nostalgia as it was meant to be experienced with a controller. Thank you triggering and reliving those memories again with the 20th Anniversary Edition.

im quite literally trying to start and play this game for THE FIRST TIME after waiting an hour for the 12GB download and repeatedly getting Ubisoft Connection errors while are preventing me from playing, even offline. i thought "oh the launcher can't be THAT BAD, it's still the premier way to play this game today. but no. you are paying for nothing. just pure abysmal ubi-slop. buy the original on GoG for $3 and thank me later.

The Agent HH glitch exists if you screw up the order of the slaughterhouse photos. It was great to play a game I played two decades ago, but this glitch just ruined the whole game playthrough.

This game is probably one of my top favorite games. Fuuny, reminds me of my mom because she randomly purchased it for me on PS2. Ive played this game so many times. Getting 100% of the achievements was kind of a pain. I did a casual speed run that took me around 3 hours. Yo Pearl was a tad irritating but i got it after a few trys. Not getting hit on the final boss also took me a few trys. Used to be one of my favorite parts, i knew i could just needed to memorize the boss patterns. I think this game is well worth the price ♡.

I found this to be more enjoyable than the original. The environments are much more beautiful, particularly the nature. The plants and grass make the game much more immersive, and the lighting makes interior levels much less plain. The gameplay feels no different, and the controls feel great. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but there was a charm to the original faces that is lacking in this remaster. The faces almost look to shiny or smooth, especially around the noses. They feel like they lost something that gave personality. I notice this more with Pey'j and other characters more so than Jade. The performance of this game has been far better on my computer than the original was on steam. Haven't experienced any technical issues.
