I don't think there are a [i]ton[/i] of people playing, but I started off as something like #6000+, so there's a good chunk. When I got the platinum (1 million clicks), I was #30-something. So, it stands to reason that a likely majority of players probably open it once, click a few times, and then probably never again. It also means that more than 30 people were doing more than me - that is, clicking faster than 1 click per millisecond (less, in fact, because I believe the game caps out; I should otherwise have reached 1 million in less than an hour, but it took a couple of [i]days[/i] instead), or clicking well beyond 1 million, or both. billion is probably one of the simplest games I have played recently, and the entire idea is right there in the name. I am clicking a button and trying to help reach one billion total clicks. The important difference is that the target is shared globally, so my clicks contribute towards the same huge number as everyone else's. I can also keep track of my own clicks and see how I am doing on the leaderboard. There is basically nothing to learn, which makes it very easy for me to jump in and immediately understand what I am supposed to do. I actually like the shared goal because it gives the otherwise pointless clicking a little bit of meaning. If the game was only counting my own clicks, I would probably get bored almost immediately. Knowing that every click moves one big counter closer to the final target makes me want to keep going for a while longer. The simple clicking sounds and small animations also give the game a satisfying feeling when I am rapidly building up my number. It is not deep, but the feedback is clear and it works for what the game is trying to do. The leaderboard is probably the part that gives me the most reason to keep playing once the initial novelty wears …

This is a great idea. Extremely basic, but a very competitive system. 2 things: I wish it could take input faster. I wish there was a live leaderboard.
