Bio Goddess : Doomsday Begins

[/list] Bio Goddess: Doomsday Begins (BGDB) is as close to the feel of the original Resident Evil (RE) than anything Capcom has made in decades, but BGDB just happens to use a modern third person mechanic. The plot is compelling, the inventory is awkward, there is a lack of polish, and the puzzles feel like they belong in a RE game. Zombie purists will be pleased to know that almost every enemy is just a basic zombie. There are only a handful of mutations and mini bosses to deal with. Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, the mutations will respawn on loading a save game or when returning to a previous area. Being early access this may be an oversight or intentional. I need a power box key. I search everywhere. Can’t find it. “It’s in the janitor lounge on 2F.” Literally nothing is labeled the janitor lounge. Search every room on 2F. Nothing. No map info highlighted. Whatever. I ask ai for 20 minutes. Nada. Meanwhile no short skirt or anything to keep me entertained, just long school dress despite game being known for fanservice. Search. Search. Search. Search. Look up guide. Search. Ai. Search. Fine. You win. I quit.

In my honest opinion the game isn't worth buying even if it was 50% off let alone full price. On the surface the game looks like a hidden gem but is nothing more than a collection quest / walking sim. You will constantly back track to find items to progress through the level, which might not have been too bad if the characters sprinting speed was slower than most games walking speed. Long story short, game is overpriced and boring. Fun for about 2hrs.

Worst final boss fight I have ever played.. the game was okay until that point but the second phase is a soft lock checkpoint where you will end up with insufficient heath in an area too small and too crowded to avoid the poorly telegraphed attacks. It will start you with the health at the end of the first phase, and only gives you two of the low grade first aid kits to heal for the whole fight. Some of the attacks are wider and faster than the janky dodge roll so are basically unavoidable. I just rage quit after three hours trying to beat that stupid boss. Everything else was a half-decent, slightly janky RE clone that I was enjoying but that ending ruined the game for me. Edit: Just checked the achievements and that's not even the final boss.. it's the second to last, I don't even want see the final boss at this point.

It’s a good game, especially after the new game plus, and you play like hunk in RE2, as a challenge. However, in the first run, insufficient ammo is a problem. And you have to go round and round to trigger the arrow to pick up some of the items. Recently after updating the games reacts much smoother. Need better music and smoother acting sequences. Let's hope there are future additions or sequels. Rating : 8/ 10 .

So after spending good two hours into this game, I made it to chapter 2. The game are good but I can see why early access. I want to say this game is heavily inspired by RE2 Remake after seeing some of the levels/bosses, UI, inventory system,etc. The fact that one guy developed this game is insane and if I were to give feedback, I would say that this still needs lots of improvement and I will try to list out as best as I could: -Need more unique enemies/bosses, mechanics or level style. Not sure if this was included but I would like more unique objective than just go here, kill zombies and go there. We need something like companion following, hold the zone or some kind of time limit mission, etc. -Inspiration is great but man after seeing some of the bosses design, I would rather just play RE2. -Texture and animation could use some work. Even with my pc capable of pushing this game to 250+ FPS, it isn't very smooth so need more optimization. Most of the models, including MC feel unpolished. Shooting is great but walking and dodging doesn't feel as smooth, like the game The Killing Antidote, which is another RE games inspired, both also has female MC and similar storyline. -I feel…
