About BIT.TRIP VOID
BIT.TRIP VOID is the third installment in the retro-arcade BIT.TRIP saga.
BIT.TRIP VOID is a synesthetic exploration of rhythm and music as they pertain to our everyday lives and moods. In a control scheme brand new to the series, yet wholly familiar to gamers, the player is given complete freedom to move about the screen wherever they desire, interacting with the music in brand new ways. The classic gameplay aesthetic remains, as color—and the absence of color—are explored to the fullest.
Trip out and see if you can survive the onslaught of Beats and further your own BIT.TRIP.

i LOOOVE bullethell rythm games
VOID is your classic easy to pick up, hard to master arcade style game. The art and music are great as always and the loop is satisfying. One of the stronger early BIT.TRIP games and a good place to start with the series.
Of the BIT.TRIP games released up to this point, VOID is probably the easiest. I was able to complete it on Normal without resorting to too much hair pulling. The "one-up" system does reward success, something the previous games did not afford to the player. The core concept is interesting, consuming black beats to grow the void whilst avoiding white beats, timing when to reset the size of the void to max score and avoid damage. A rhythm game this is not. But the tunes are still great
this game trained 9 yr old's me eye coordination, on just a nunchuck and a wii remote and i personally owe alot to this game lol, had i not play it id be the terrible noob i still am at most games today, just miles worse this is the only game in the bit trip series, that you can learn something from it, and take it with you in memory as you play future games.
BT Void is basically a rhythm-based bullet hell game. You do not have any attacks, you can only shrink and grow while you move around, and you have to be maintaining a positive score to grow and thus to use some of the abilities that growing unlocks like repulsion. You lose points if you are hit by white projectiles, but also if you miss black projectiles. Because there are often large portions of the screen that are cut off/unsafe, you can often automatically lose levels because you picked the wrong side of a wall. If the game telegraphs the correct side, I haven't figured out how, so so far levels feel entirely like they're trial and error. I don't enjoy this game.
