BlamBox

"BlamBox" is one of those "I can't believe it's not a mobile app" entries in the Steam shovelware section, this time an ultra basic shooter with a simple gimmick... different coloured boxes bounce around and you have to shoot them into matching coloured recepticles. Tetris has got more going on than this does. And yet it doesn't seem to have made it to the mobile app stores it looks like it was designed for. The graphics aren't great, low poly/voxel-ish graphics (when will developers learn Minecraft succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them). That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Having said that, while the presentation is understandably poor, I think the major cause of failure was just the sheer lack of ambition. Ultra simple games just aren't going to go viral on the PC platform. This game was put on the same platform as games like Rimworld, PUBG, Cyberpunk 2077 and Skyrim,…

If you have a trackpad and not a traditional mouse, sorry for your loss. I already know that this game is amazing. While I technically wasn't able to play the game due to only having access to my laptop (without a mouse), it looks great. The smooth arcade gameplay just feels right. The geometry wars but better look just feels right. Everything just feels right. Without actually experiencing the gameplay, I can tell you with 100% certainty that this game is worth every penny. Oddly enough, it doesn't cost anything, so... take of that what you will. 8.4/10. It gud. This is the only accurate review ever made by someone who didn't actually play the game.

Простой, но стильный визуальный стиль приятно радует глаз, а динамичный саундтрек добавляет адреналина каждому уровню. Суть геймплея заключается в умелом использовании гравитации и рикошетов для уничтожения целей, что с каждым новым этапом становится все сложнее и интереснее. BlamBox не просто предлагает пройти уровни, она заставляет думать. Поиск оптимального угла, расчет траектории - все это превращает игру в увлекательный интеллектуальный вызов. Отдельно стоит отметить прекрасную оптимизацию и отсутствие каких-либо технических проблем. Игра работает плавно и стабильно, что позволяет полностью сосредоточиться на игровом процессе. Единственным небольшим минусом можно назвать кажущуюся однообразность, но это компенсируется постоянно возрастающей сложностью и введением новых элементов, которые вносят разнообразие в геймплей. В целом, BlamBox – отличная игра для тех, кто ищет захватывающее времяпрепровождение и любит поломать голову над интересными задачами. Рекомендую!

A very nicely made arcade game. Simple and complex at the same time. The graphics and visuals are very pleasing.
