The general level design and artwork is very nice, and I’m sure this game will suit a lot of people, but it just wasn’t for me. After around 11 hours, I’d honestly had enough. The game gives very little direction or satisfaction, and I eventually became bored and moved on. A lot of the gameplay turns into constant backtracking, climbing through multiple areas repeatedly, and spending huge amounts of time searching without really knowing what you’re even looking for. Once the boredom sets in, the experience becomes even more frustrating because you start dying more simply due to losing interest and focus. The map is large so missing one small item can potentially waste hours of your time searching everywhere again. I don’t mind these types of games generally, but this one really struggled to keep me engaged. Everything feels very slow, you have to walk everywhere, and while the mid-game guns are decent enough, they lack any real impact or substance. There’s definitely high quality in the design and atmosphere, but for me the gameplay loop became repetitive, tedious, and more frustrating than enjoyable.1 found this helpful

What can you say but entertaining old school gaming? Likable protagonists and nice mechanics. This game captures every element of what make a game enjoyable. The only caveat is the backtracking, but that is often a staple in games of this short.

Unique mechanics, fun characters, really cool bosses, pretty neat (although limited) supply of weapons. I wish it went even further, but it's been great fun.
