i really love this game! the little characters are so cute and its so satisfying when blast away these monsters and everything on the screen explodes in pixels. so pretty game gets very diff tho but you are always leveling up ur ridiculous bonus item stash so its makes it super rewarding definitely recommended if you like indie roguelike shootemeup kinda jam5 found this helpful
Wonderfully chaotic run-and-gun roguelike. Retro visuals are absolutely on point, and soundtrack is an absolute banger at times. Has a fantastically unique auto-balancing difficulty system, where the more you play the game the more powerups you can start a level with, to the point where you can become a one-man bullet hell. But you don't have to grab the powerups if you don't want, allow you to tailor your own difficulty as needed. Although even with the litany of powerups that you get, it's still not a cakewalk! Enemies come in thick and fast, and in the later levels you really need to make the most of all of your abilities to survive. Every session also feels reasonably unique, with new enemy layouts, level layouts, and player loadouts making different sessions feel unique enough to keep that 'just one more try' feeling running. Creative, charming, and relentless.3 found this helpful
Blastermancer is a fun and addictive arcade style shooter. The difficulty level feels challenging but fair making it extra rewarding as you get better. The distinctive art style is mesmerising and the soundtrack is a stand out for me. I would highly recommend this game.2 found this helpful
A really polished and immersive experience, gameplay loop feels good, roguelike elements done well, novel experience in a mature genre and pacing feels great. Highly recommend!2 found this helpful
Definitely a hidden gem. Beyond the obvious awesome art and sound design, it has some really interesting, unexpected mechanics, including one I’ve genuinely never seen before. After you die, every fresh run starts you with all the power-ups you’ve accumulated along the way, all at once. It basically guarantees the “ok, one more run before bed” trap, because you just want to cause havoc with everything stacked for a few more minutes. Another mechanic I didn’t realise was intentional until I actually reread the Steam description is the deliberate frame dropping when things get chaotic. This game is the definition of fun and “one more run.” So addictive, and absolutely worth the buy.1 found this helpful
Blastermancer really stuck the landing. I got to play the beta preview and watch the final stretch come together, and the finished game feels properly dialed in. It’s a chaotic mix of roguelite and arena shooter, and the build variety is deep enough that you’re constantly trying new combinations of abilities and power-ups. It nails that addictive “just one more run” loop, every run feels like it could turn into something different. The presentation is just as strong. The art direction and visual style are super clean, the effects pop without turning the screen into unreadable noise, and the overall design has a really confident look to it. The music is honestly amazing too and ties the whole vibe together. I had a huge blast playing this, an easy recommendation if you’re into fast, build-centric shooters.1 found this helpful
