"Blindsight: War of the Wardens" is an unusual console-esque narrative driven arcade brawler where you take on the role of Daredevil/someone with the blind martial artist trope and do some really poor quality brawling through a storyline. Hey, at least this isn't some mobile scam or a half baked student tech demo. Yep, this looks like a genuine, sincerely made game. Unfortunately that doesn't make it a slam dunk success... there's more to a game than intention. What do you do in the game? Brawling is the theme, the raison d'être, and that most crucial part of the game is where the ball got dropped hardest. The controls and handling as just clunky, it's not fluid, there's no satisfying feeling with combos or anything... it's a dud. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. I know they're trying for a monochrome look to simulate the blindness of the protagonist, but also, that makes the game look not nearly as good as it should. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier game…2 found this helpful
animations need a bit work but the was gem of a find and very inspiring. I have a similar idea for a blind protagonist and liked the way this was executed
A little rough around the edges(combat), but fun experience.
The camera is too close to the avatar, combined with the visual styles, this makes it really hard to actually see what is going on. The landscape is also very repetitive, so it is too easy to get turned around especially with the combined issue of the visual style and the camera. The fighting is lackluster. There is no variation in the moves, no combos other than the finisher, of which there is only 1 animation for. The controls are janky. There seems to be an issue where the button presses are not actually processed. There is also no save feature. Other reviews say the game is only 20 minutes long, but I don't know since I couldn't make it that far. I quit the game the first time to come double check the reviews, saw it was only 20 minutes long, so I went to play again and it started me back at the beginning. I played further into the game where the janky controls and my lack of paying attention to the health bar caused me to die. When I respawned the game froze. The only good aspect of this game is that it is free.
too short for size, to little animations and combos so it feels repetative, to little enemy variation.
A Lee Sin story.
