About Bloodlust

In a remote medieval town burdened with plague, you play as a bloodthirsty vampire lurking in the shadows of a dark alleyway. Arriving late from your nightly hunt, you must attack unsuspecting prey and drink their blood to survive the harsh daylight.
Bloodlust is a short narrative exploration game in which you play as Vandor, a vampire desperately trying to survive in the daytime. Your only goal is to quench your bloodlust by taking down the plagued townspeople to give yourself enough strength to reach the safety of your castle. The game features a dark and gothic environment, an engaging story and a vampire blood drinking mechanic. Bloodlust was a solo project produced in Unreal Engine 5 by Laela Russell (Environment artist) as a Ringling College thesis project in 2024.

I played this every which way I could think of. I could definitely see the potential. I just wish they spent more time developing more to the game. It doesn't necessarily need to be prettier. Just MORE to it. 2 minutes to beat a game is pretty remarkable. It takes 25 seconds to download (At least with my interweb speeds and stuff. And then 2-4 minutes to beat if you have no idea what you're doing, which is typically me.)

This game changed my life. A Ringing college of art student has no idea what they have done for me. Thank you so much Laela Russell! Blessings to Irvine, California, United States!

This is a great concept. Stick to the shadows avoid (tropey) vampire weaknesses and drink from humans for more health. Unfortunately the thats where the brilliance ends with hammy voice acting, fixed camera and the jankiest attack motions ive seen in a while. The graphics look good except for the characters for some reason. I could imagine an assassins creed-esque mechanic system where you could climb buildings and drink blood unawares with silent attacks. Throw in some vampire hunters and maybe some werewolves and this concept could be realised to the fullest. Unfortunately this demo doesnt even meet the five minute mark for a review and is a concept that will never be realised.

Runs my GPU hot for not looking that good. Kinda stupid camera. Voice actor wants to suck my blood and maybe more (no thank you sir)
