Bobo Bay is a creature-raising sim with genuine charm that successfully captures the appeal of the Chao Garden for many players, though it struggles with repetitive gameplay loops, heavy RNG mechanics, and poorly balanced progression that make earning money difficult. While players appreciate the frequent updates and the satisfying experience of watching their creatures evolve, the game is held back by frustrating design choices like expensive training, uncompetitive competitions due to randomness, and occasional technical bugs that can force restarts. The game shows promise as a spiritual suc

First 3 hours and its okay. I've heard from others that it really shows its value as you play more, and I'm already starting to see a bit of that but only a little. At the start of the game there's not too much content but there's a mountain of stuff to learn and understand (even for those familiar with Chao Garden). The charm is there, but the graphics are anything but charming. The character designs are fantastic though. I supported this game through its Patreon page for a number of months prior to its release, would have been much longer if I knew about Bobo Bay when it initially opened its Patreon page, but unfortunately I had to stop my financial support when I ran into money problems. Although I continued to support the game by word of mouth, I couldnt afford it until today. I'm happy I waited as more content has been added since its initial release, and more seems to be coming in the future as well. This game definitely has its positives. For chao garden fans there's a lot to love here. For people unfamiliar, there's still a lot of fun to be had. It's a very niche genre for sure, but its one I've always been a fan of ever since the first Sonic Adventure game came out, play…

I LOVE BOBO BAY~ My sister and I played Sonic Adventures 2 with Chao Garden, and I have to say.. Bobo Bay is definitely that game that feeds the chao need. I love all of my bobo's dearly >.<. I love watching them play with one another, dance, play ball, play with the blocks, ask to be held, and so on! The islands are pretty cool as well (they have a variety of items you can obtain and bring back, sometimes they have a seasonal look, there's races, and challenges)! You can work on SAGAs to bring new stores and species back, and just so much more! I've also loved sharing my little bobos' adventures with friends! My pet birb also has a file we play on together!

I've been craving something like this! There's a lot of love and attention that has been poured into this game, and it shows! The sense of discovery and relaxed progression is very much to my taste, and refreshing as well. I was worried I would run out of new things after a few hours, but the depths of this ocean are not shallow! The game explains just enough that I didn't feel lost, but it lets many of the mechanics (for example, how certain stats are calculated) be up to the player to research and master, which really lends to that feeling of discovery I mentioned. The fact that new Bobos aren't raining from the skies makes the ones you do find (especially if they have good potential or a rare trait) all the more unique and rewarding to raise! Training takes time, but it's satisfying to work up towards a specific goal and then achieve it instead of just steamrolling every competition with your first Bobo. You really have to work with your Bobo and learn about their unique abilities. I've found myself naturally growing a bond with my little team and feeling proud when we manage to surpass a challenge we've been training for. My only significant complaints are that the days can…

ill give a better review once I hit 500 hours, but for now I can easily tell you 2 things. 1. My better review will only contain more info and I'm not gonna change it to a negative review, just a much more word filled positive one 😁 And 2. Spending 25 hours in this game is literally cake, just buy it at full price, it won't hurt anything and you can play the game instead of debate if you should wait for that sale that's probably 6 months from now or whatever 🤣😝

Cute. Very slow pace, but I keep coming back anyway despite that normally turning me away. helps that content is paced very well, you're always on the cusp of something and are usually encountering something new.

If you liked the chao gardens from either sonic DX or sonic 2 battle, then youre absolutely gonna adore this Creature raising sim. It pays such a wonderful homage to the different mechanics from them evolving depending on their stats and how you raise them, to the racing and fighting minigames where different stats you invested in really show their potential, to teaching them how to do little things like draw and play instruments, dress them up, and i wont spoil anymore. You can even share a code to share your little creatures so a copy of them can join someone elses garden~ Overall i highly highly recommend!
