Short and simple platformer with some progression system set in a small closed area. Gain abilities to get further and uncover new paths. Setting is very small and might even feel claustrophobic - it's just a tiny room filled with platforms and such. But surprisingly exploration part is somewhat interesting and getting access to the new areas is enjoyable.
This game is amazing. From the gameplay to the lore, this game is for casual and hardcore gamers alike. The lore is extremely rich and deep and it will keep you invested. I recommend this to anyone.

Boxlife felt like a bad platformer that someone thought up and gave up on in the same sitting. Controls are wonky and the whole game takes place in the same room/level area. You wander around aimlessly until you find power ups that allow you to progress by backtracking for the next power up until you finish. The game is quick and short to complete, and leaves you feeling like any other game would have been a better use of time.

Good use of the Unity Engine and the controls are very tight, but there needs to be some story or challenge to the game to fully flesh it out.

I enjoyed the concept of stripping down a metroidvania to only its most essential parts, but the only cheevo in the game (collecting all the secrets) is locked behind a buggy and temperamental set of switches that doesn't work half the time. Bit of a bummer, but the rest of the game is good.

There's definitely some potential in the concept here, but 'boxlife' is not a cohesive nor enjoyble product in the slightest. Completing the game took me 15 mins, and my other 30 mins of playtime were spent looking for the 9 'secrets' hidden in the game after the fact. It's a good thing the game is short, because if it was any longer I probably would've just given up due to lack of enjoyment overall.
