About Break the Game
✦ AI summary
You're trapped in a mysterious facility with Kevin, a character who won't stop talking to you, and must shoot your way through while uncovering the meaning behind your confinement. This story-driven shooter blends atmospheric exploration with constant character banter and fourth-wall breaks inspired by games like The Stanley Parable and Undertale.
.Hey
I'm Kevin.
Something is keeping me in here.
I need someone from the outside.
You.
Please help me.

What is this?
The game is the "sequel" to the small free game "Escape the Game". The game is heavily influenced by games like Thomas was Alone, Undertale, The Stanley Parable, Lisa and various story-driven games. Throughout the whole game, Kevin and other characters will constantly talk with you. Banter on choices you do or just talk about random pointless stuff. The game also includes a collection of weapons, awesome music, aliens, the meaning of life, yadda yadda. You know, normal gaming stuff.

Break the Game, developed and published by Simon Fredholm, is an unconventional indie experience that deliberately blurs the boundary between player, character, and game itself. From the very beginning, it makes clear that this is not a traditional adventure or platformer meant to be consumed passively. Instead, it presents itself as a self-aware, often chaotic conversation between the game and the person playing it, centered around a character named Kevin who claims to be trapped inside the game world. This premise immediately sets a strange and intimate tone, inviting the player into a narrative that constantly questions agency, control, and the nature of interaction in video games. At its core, the game combines light platforming and shooter mechanics with heavy narrative emphasis. Movement and shooting are straightforward and responsive, allowing players to navigate levels without frustration, but these mechanics are rarely the main attraction. Rather than escalating difficulty or introducing complex systems, the game repeatedly pauses to address the player directly through dialogue, monologues, and fourth-wall breaks. Kevin frequently communicates his thoughts, anxieties, and…1 found this helpful
Ignore every positive review, this game has zero redeeming qualities... Was only $2 when I got it and that was $20 more than it should have been... Even if someone is paying you to play this, it isn't worth it...
i rlly wanted to like it but i just cant, i thought it would have a 4th wall do script stuff on your computer like doki doki but no :( also the game is like 90% dialog u kinda just have to sit through and cant even speed up, sometimes u cant even move or anything. is feels so slow too. also i have so many point things and character would say they are seeling stuff just for it to be empty, what am i supposed to do with all these points?
great game but [strike] sad [/strike]
