Bubbaruka!

Bubbaruka! is a extremely fun, interesting, and decently scary game, not gonna go into spoilers but it's interesting to see story unravel and the puzzles are extremely fun and a lot of them unique. And a lot of the horror moments genuinely got me creeped out. If you're looking for a interesting horror experience i'd highly recommend Bubbaruka! I'm really glad i found this game, and it really sucks how little people know about this hidden gem.

Lefty is 5 dollars and so is this game! (TDLR and non spoiler version: This game is absolutely amazing and you should definitely get it if you're even the least bit curious. It is criminal how underrated and under talked about this game is.) I got this game for about $3 because it was on sale. I got it not thinking much about the game, but my friend said that the game was really good, so I ended up getting it. What I experienced is now one of my favorite horror games to date. It ticks a lot of boxes for me that make horror actually scary. I've played too many horror games where they just don't scare me at all, but I'm happy to report that there were several times in which my hands were shaking, flung my keyboard a little, or my heart was going insane. I was very heavily invested in the story throughout the entire experience, it's such an interesting concept to me. The gameplay is also really good. While playing this game made me think of some of my other favorites due to how well the horror was actually executed. It reminded me of the RE series (because of the key collecting and some of the puzzles), Doki Doki Literature Club (The entire, kill off a beloved creature, then …

Really fun and unique. The varied gameplay styles presented in the game really keep it fresh and fun as you progress. There are a lot of interesting puzzles and even some action sequences that present enough of a challenge to be really engaging. The atmosphere is tense and downright terrifying a lot of the time. Bubbaruka is even more impressive knowing that all of this was done in RPG Maker, it must have really pushed it to its limits.

[strike] This game was so fun and scary and then you get to the final boss. Any fun or fear you were feeling gets replaced by annoyance as you try to beat this boss with the jankiest, most horrid controls imaginable. And on top of that, the boss just takes FOREVER. Every single attack it does it followed up by 10 seconds of the boss doing an animation and screaming, while you have to just wait and hope it does one of its attacks that can actually be reflected for damage. Overall, its just a horribly designed boss fight that makes you not care about seeing the ending. [/strike] Update: They fixed the final boss and I was able to beat it on my first retry! I'm so happy they fixed it, I finally was able to see the finale and the post game. The post game was fun, but once again it was kinda ruined by a poorly designed boss fight (why does this game need such horribly long boss fights?!)

Tomo is my favorite Bubby. All the Bubbies from Bubbruka! are great in their own right, but Tomo's (T_T) Face is truly a mood. But Tomo's smile at the end of Chapter 1 is truly what left an impression on me.
