About Bug Dolls: Soviet Project

The action takes place in the small town of Zhukovsk. In the autumn of 1991, the entire population of the town was evacuated for an unknown reason.

You are an ordinary resident of the city who did not have time to evacuate and you are forced to get out on your own.

In the game you need to explore the deserted city, solve puzzles and find a way out of the situation.

Dangerous mutated beetle dolls operate on the streets. Either kill or run away is up to you. After some time, you will be able to make two types of weapons.

The location of the game is a semi-open world. You can go to many buildings located in the city, all places are unique in their own way.
Models and environments are made with meticulous accuracy, which will allow you to feel the whole atmosphere of horror on yourself.

You are not limited in your actions. You can study some part at once, then proceed to the passage of the main storyline, which will allow you to discover new places.

Buying the game you will get:
  • More than 15 hours of exciting game play.
  • Responsive operation.

This game is for those interested in first-person horror adventures and for those who are looking for thrill. https://youtu.be/EVaQw5fKVLM The gameplay is centered around puzzle solving, exploration, and some platforming. The puzzles range in difficulty, some were very simple whilst some had me stuck for longer. The map, and object indicators done well, making the game easier to manage and navigate. The crafting system is quite limited and forced to disguise the typical genre objective of searching for various objects to advance the story.

This is a point and click exploration game/walking simulator. It is not a horror game. If you are looking to get scared, find something else. Besides jump scares here and there, the game is simply not scary. I think they wanted it to be scary, because the environment has this spooky fog effect and the constant jumpscares are meant to be frightening.... But these scares never really worked on me, they just felt incredibly awkward, because the animations looked like someone's first time in Blender. I might have rated this positively, had they removed these tedious horror elements and only had the SCP-like enemies wandering around, as a threat you have to avoid, while you uncover the story. At first I was quite impressed with the size of the map and the voice acting quality which is quite great for a game like this. However, slowly things started to fall apart. As for gameplay, it's the old find-the-key puzzle design from 2008. Find codes, find items, find keys, that's basically the entirety of the game. You can also find badly translated notes that I suppose meant to tell the story, but they are so badly written, it feels like a parody of other horror games. As mentioned before, …

Now you might find it weird that I say this due to the negative recommendation, but the puzzles are REALLY good. It's not everyday you have to decode morse code in order to progress in a puzzle game, and that, I really enjoyed. What I didn't enjoy is how tedious the game is if you don't speak a lick of russian. Since most of the clues are RUSSIAN ONLY, and what is in english is broken beyond repair(google translated most likely) so you're gonna be spending most of the time running up and down tryna figure out what yer supposed to do. It also didn't help that the only item I had left in order to make the dynamite was glitched, making me restart this entire thing. To cut it short, yes, while the game has great puzzles and ambiance, it's buggy/broken nature doesn't justify the steep price tag, especially since games like Metel exist, which are way more polished, and MUCH cheaper. Only get this if it's available for 1$ or less, or if ya just wanna laugh yer ass off at how jank it is.

I Love this game. Yeah the controls are a lil bit to get used to. However, I love all the little puzzles. the jump scares and the atmosphere fear. This is a game I had a hard time putting down because it is so much fun <3 I understand this is not for everyone. Nut for a horror/puzzle enthusiast . This I give this a 9 /10 !

a wonderful game despite some issues, makes it worse if you don't understand the language. There was a code puzzle but in russian unsure how i would get that ever. I could not figure out how to get the secret behind the boards and I was unable to find one key for a chest that appears near where you use the bomb, there was writing one wall but again even using image to translate to english didn't help me, as i can't type in those letters to translate. Some bugs here and there but really suprised at how good this was.
