This is an elegant and extremely well-tuned game that's designed with the ethos of a golden age arcade classic, but is also original enough that you can't make a 1-to-1 comparison with any particular game from that era. As with all the best games in this mode, the core mechanics are very simple. You drive a car from left to right and dodge through traffic, while the scoring system rewards you for going fast and intentionally cutting it close when passing other cars. As you would hope, these simple mechanics give way to some very complex dynamics that reward repeat playthroughs, and many layers of depth are revealed as you slowly increase your high score. I've had the pleasure of attending a venue with a permanently-installed Bumpy Grumpy arcade cabinet, and I can report that the high-score competition is incredibly fierce. I bought it here so I could practice at home, and I have found it to be a fun and addictive way to pass the time. Give it a shot!

Excellent arcade game. Apparently this is supposed to be a revival of a long lost 1980's game that got remade for the current day. It feels pretty good and not outdated to me, so I guess they did a good job. This game has you simply dodge drivers and get through the areas but you are encouraged to try to swerve right beside them to get more points. This offers quick precision and reaction time gameplay. It can be addicting to get as many points as possible but you will get killed if you make a small mistake so it's up to you whether or not you'll risk it. You get a plethora of items to boost you or to knock out drivers. Some of them are better than others and they don't spawn very consistently so the game is quite RNG dependent. You're also encouraged to get your lost papers for work. The amount you get determines what kind of ending you get. They spawn randomly in each of the areas and if you miss one you can't ever get it afterwards. That's fine, but it is quite annoying that on top of the random enemies making it hard sometimes to get them, you also can't reverse even if you're an inch past a paper. This may make getting them a tad annoying if you're trying to get the best end…

I first played Bumpy Grumpy in arcade cabinet form and totally fell into the lore that it was a lost 80s arcade classic! With charming visuals reminiscent of the ZX Spectrum or early arcade outings and addictive risk/reward score attack gameplay, Bumpy Grumpy slaps!

Extremely charming and fast arcade game, with lots of wonderful pixel art and sense of speed. If you like score chasing and many point opportunities, this is the game for you! It's also not that difficult to play at your own pace and reach the ending, too. My only downside is because there are so many sound cues for passing, power-ups, extra lives, and whatnot, the developers forgot to include some actually good music. What's here is for interstitials only, there's no gameplay music which I thought was a real shame. It's evocative of that time, at least. 8/10, not my favorite of recent Arcade games I've tried like Annalynn or Raindrop Sprinters, but very solid and fun overall.

Very great game even if you try to run a home arcade, neat controls, lots of great optional attributes from bezel art to cheats to CRT Wells Garner inspired screen layout & what not, also very true to its 80s era coin eating arcade inspiration, even though this has a fake lost media of which I do not follow any of at all, other than that this is really great & I would REALLY like to see this game make it to Nintendo Switch, Xbox & PlayStation consoles sometime very soon! I RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO ALL ARCADE FANS 100%
