Your main character is an archer, and although you can also unlock a mage, it takes quite a long time to gather enough carrots, the game's currency. This is especially true because you'll probably spend most of them on upgrades first. For the archer, you can improve attack power and attack speed, and later unlock new skills such as Power Shot and Arrow Rain. Skills have short cooldowns before they can be used again, but every one of them feels useful. Most upgrades remain locked until you purchase enough levels in previous upgrades. Some can be bought multiple times, allowing you to increase them up to their maximum level. Naturally, each new level costs more than the last. The mage has a separate skill tree, but you need to unlock the character before gaining access to it. The final upgrade tree focuses on the fortress and overall gameplay, offering bonuses such as increased wave rewards or additional health.
