What Steam players say

Players praise Capitalism Plus as an ambitious and deeply detailed business simulation that effectively teaches real economic concepts like predatory pricing, vertical integration, and supply chain control, with fans calling it one of the best market simulators ever made. However, some players feel the game offers little innovation over its predecessors like Capitalism 2 and Capitalism Lab, and there's nostalgia for earlier versions with features the current release seems to lack.
This game incidentally taught me Rockefeller's predatory tactics for market domination. I learnt all sorts of fun concepts like predatory pricing, price gouging, vertical integration, I didn't allow my competitors to thrive one bit. I controlled every last part of a supply-chain production process. The only features it's missing is bribery of politicians and Trust formation. If my competitors were selling products for retail, they'd buy the manufactured good directly from me. They were poor quality but at an attractive price. Once they started buying from me, I'd price gouge the hell out of my product and they were forced to increase the price of it on their end to make up for the losses. Some cities I lost more money than I gained. But it was worth it because I drove the prices down. Anytime a non renewable resource was discovered like oil/gold, I was the first to claim it, and I was the only one allowed to use oil/gold for products.1 found this helpful
Capitalism Plus is a classic business simulation developed by Enlight Software and published by Retroism that continues to stand as one of the most ambitious management games ever created. Rather than simplifying the corporate world into a collection of easy-to-understand mechanics, the game embraces complexity and challenges players to build a business empire from the ground up. From operating retail stores and manufacturing facilities to controlling supply chains and investing in research, every decision contributes to the success or failure of a growing corporation. Even years after its original release, the game remains a fascinating example of how deeply economic systems can be represented within a strategy title. The core appeal of Capitalism Plus lies in its detailed simulation of real-world business practices. Players are not simply constructing buildings and watching profits accumulate automatically. Instead, they must carefully manage production, distribution, marketing, pricing, and competition. Raw materials need to be extracted or purchased, factories must convert resources into products, and retail outlets have to satisfy consumer demand while maintaining profitabili…
I enjoy playing but I have played a version of Capitalism with multiple versions of shops. That was better but I have not found that version Thanks Daniel
The best market/business simulator ever. Goated.
Love Capitalism 2 and Capitalism Lab, just bought it for completion. It offers nothing special compared to Capitalism 2...
Great economic simulation game! Perfect for the 90s vibe!
