About Card City Nights
Card City Nights is an adventure through a city filled with card-nuts and lunatics. Battle for the 8 legendary cards to enter the biggest competition this city has seen yet.
CCN is not a traditional card-trading game. It's an adventure game with zany characters to meet and weird locations to explore. In the center is our new card battle system that breaks away from the fantasy TCG mold with connecting cards to form combos.
* 8+ hours of gameplay in a singleplayer adventure
* Connect cards to form combos
* 180 unique cards with characters from the Ludosity universe
* No IAP's in this game! You collect booster packs by simply playing the adventure from start to finish
* An amazing soundtrack in a blend of Jazz and Hiphop
While the art style was strange to me, the gameplay was oddly familiar
These days I tend to avoid card battlers. Most of them feel bland or introduce some bizarre mechanic that turns the game into more of a chore than something fun to play. Card City Nights surprised me. The developer clearly has experience with trading card games because the gameplay feels surprisingly similar to Magic: The Gathering. It has enough strategy to keep things interesting without overcomplicating everything. I wasn't a fan of the art style at first. In fact, it almost put me off playing altogether. Thankfully, the gameplay won me over, and the fact that I was hopelessly addicted to 100%-ing games back then probably helped too. All in all, it's a solid little indie and one that I think is better than the majority of card battlers coming out today. Not giving it a negative because it's alright but I really hate the whole you need the cards to be connected to not be useless.
A short but very charming card game. My first venture into the Ludosity universe, so I didn't recognize any of the characters and stuff, but quickly got pulled in. The story provides a miniature tcg experience in buying packs, expanding your collection, aquiring rare cards and building a deck. Nice music as well. I played this game years ago through GOG and once again on steam. It's just that cute.
Fun game, should have had multiplayer though
Cute little card game that is a bunch of fun. Feels more like a puzzle game where you customize your deck to counter your opponent than a TCG, so be aware. The game takes place on a 3x3 board, and each of the cards has a number of arrows pointing in any of the directions on the compass. You need three symbols connected to do something, so if you have a card with 2-attack pointing south, and a 1-defense card pointing north, and you put em together, you can choose to do either 2 damage or gain 1 shield. When you do damage, you can also choose to disable a card on the opponent’s board instead of hitting their health! You lose when your health is zero or you can’t play a card (perhaps due to your board being full of disabled cards!). The cards overall seem like there aren’t enough to build a deck based around one thing, but you can, though you have to remember your arrows more than your ability synergy, and it can be rough in the early game trying to do anything wild, you’ll be playing basic attacks and defends for a little while. Most enemies go for your health and don’t really mess with your cards, so revive cards aren’t useful until later. A positive experience overall. The OST i…
They really managed not to feel like a traditional card game, but not in a way that feels interesting. It's taking too long to slowly work up a deck with any amount of synergy to actually be fun to use. The core gameplay just isn't that interesting anyways
