Card Survival: Tropical Island

Card Survival: Tropical Island is a survival crafting game set on a tropical island. Despite the look of it, this isn't a card game, it's just that all the items, structures and animals are represented as cards. In this game you play as a survivor who lands on an island and has to find a way to survive on his own. The game has the usual mechanics of a survival game, you need to look for resources, craft tools, find food and water and build structures for protection. All of this is presented through cards, the top row shows the region and all structures in it, the middle raw shows all the items that you have gathered here and the bottom row are the items you currently keep on your character. You can explore aregion to draw more cards from the deck which can be natural structures like trees and and other plants, items like wood or stones or even animals that you can hunt. Some animals are dangerous however and you should be prepared. You can pick up cards and place them on another card to craft new items, you can grind a stone against a heavy stone to get a sharp stone which functions as your first tool. simple crafting and gathering that feels good and has a great resource bar management as a balance. All the areas are a bit static, but you can alter the scenario a bit and it has a bit of replayability.

I play the game as a normal dude with no traits beyond loner, Ive died so many times in such horrible ways, ive prepared beyond any human would to survive, preparing for multiple catastrophes at once. Ive had a literal football field size amount of cooking pots filled with water, and enough fat and leather to make the entire island a blanket just large enough to hold my fat ass after eating my stores. Ive become schizophrenic and completely detached from reality challenging the watchers in the shadows and spent months training my spearfighting to best a demon created by my own mind that hunts me in an attempt to regain some sense of control and get a grip on reality What kills you in this game more than anything? not stopping to smell the roses, almost literally, your sanity and wellbeing is crucial to everything, but beyond that, getting excited about a big project and neglecting one stat can lead to a huge downward spiral, 4X genre doesnt have ♥♥♥♥ on card survival planning and execution, Things will never go exactly as planned and whats in the biomes themselves is randomized in quantity and how long it can take to find them, Makes the game feel alive, you cant just do the sam…

[h3] Achievement Hunting Rating 1/5 [/h3] One of my all time favorite games! The mechanics and UI seem simple but the simulation of survival is complex. Don't expect to survive without a lot of trial and error or using guides to prepare. Many of the achievements are a grind to get but will be done through steady progress. Some of the achievements are very strange to focus on. And the hardest to achieve will require many dedicated hours and different high difficult playthroughs to accomplish. Honestly I would not recommend achievement hunting this game. But I always kept coming back to it to scratch the survivalist itch.

Starts rough when you dont know how to do anything. Depending on how long you live you can unlock perks on your next playthrough. So even when you die it doesnt feel like a waste of time. You learn stuff and the perks let you get your base started faster each time. I only got to one ending but that was enough for me. Was worth the money.
