It is a fun but very difficult card game I probably wouldn't have bought it myself cause I am terrible at roguelikes but I had fun which is all that matters.1 found this helpful
It starts well, until you realize how much RNG dependant this game is. For me, that happened in the Lab part. Seriously, a monster damage and HP varies so much that if you get just one with too much HP or damage BY CHANCE, you are already screwed! There should be MANY more tools available to reveal cards and rules to understand and control the risk-reward of doing some action. There are rooms with ONLY items pickups, while others have only monsters. How am I supposed to know that if I dont have something like the binoculars or the flashlight to reveal cards? That said, skills DO matter and even if there are scenarios your luck is so bad there is nothing you could do, the way you manage resources and make decisions have a significant impact. I also appreciate the game does not hold your hand whatsoever, even if that implies trial and error because you assumed a given mechanic worked a certain way, but you end up dying in the process (and learn it the hard way). I overall enjoyed my time with the game and had a much better time with the second and third characters than the first one. The first character is the lowest in terms of options you have to try to overcome bad RNG... It is on…1 found this helpful
Super addicting (but not in a bad way :P ). And often extremely unfair and punishing.
This game is fun enough but after playing it for a while it feels like the game is just arbitrary, like youre not really making any important choices. you just clear each level and move on to the next, and you either get enough weapons to make your way through or you don't. this probably is less noticable when you have a longer game and have had a chance to curate your pack more but most of my early deaths were from literally having no weapons. I get that its a zombie game and you have to run sometimes but you can't do that when you haven't found the exit yet. its just that i really hate the early game of roguelikes. if that all sounds fun to you then this game is well made and you should buy it, probably on sale.
This one is as amazing as it gets. Simple, but really fun and engaging. And yes, you won't be able to stop.
