About Championship Wrestling Promoter
Have you ever wanted to run your own professional wrestling promotion, trying to win the TV ratings war against your rivals by putting on great shows? Championship Wrestling Promoter is the game you've been waiting for!
In Championship Wrestling Promoter you run the show from behind the scenes without directly controlling the wrestlers. You'll put together TV shows and pay-per-view events by booking matches and promos to try to get audiences to go wild. But booking shows isn't enough to run a successful promotion, because you'll also have to manage the contracts, morale, and expectations of your wrestlers while making sure the company earns enough revenue to continue operating.
Each month you'll book four episodes of TV and one pay-per-view with a wide variety of match types and promos. Every segment is simulated based on the statistics and unique traits of the wrestlers involved, and your goal is to book segments that get the crowd as excited as possible so that you can win the TV ratings war against your rivals.
Every wrestler wants to be on TV, but there's only a limited amount of screen time available. You'll have to balance keeping all your wrestlers happy by giving them screen time while trying to get your TV ratings as high as possible. Negotiate contracts, keep your wrestlers happy, and make sure you've got some young talent ready to take over when the veterans start to decline.
The owner of the company you work for will set financial goals for you each year. Sign wrestlers within your budget, earn a big new TV contract, and boost your revenue with well-timed investments in marketing.
Change the appearance of any wrestler on your roster in the simple but flexible character editor, design championship belts, and make the ring look just the way you want.
All of the save files for Championship Wrestling Promoter are stored as editable JSON files which can be modified in any text editor. Want to play with the same roster as your friends? Importing the roster from one game to another is as simple as pointing the game to the right JSON file.

Game has promise but 2 things that need to be addressed sooner rather than later: 1. Game looks like trash on 2k/4K monitors. Barely legible. There's no way to edit resolution in settings (unless it's buried somewhere else. 2. Badly needs a workshop or way to import rosters. It's very time consuming to keep editing rosters as you go because default names are weird, or you want to recreate real-world companies/wrestlers.11 found this helpful
I feel like the bones are here for a much better game, which is kind of frustrating. The basics are solid, but with no sound, extremely limited graphics and the like, it's hard to recommend this. The game can be kind of glitchy as well, as I built up to a championship match in a cage, and it announced the challenger won the championship, which is what i booked, but the next week he wasn't the champion. So maybe the title cant change hands in some stipulation matches, but it can in others? Like I said, glitchy. Even with injuries off, there was an astronomical amount of injuries from scripted events, which can happen to anyone (my world champ left the week before my ppv for family reasons, leaving a giant hole in my plans) If you're a diehard id give it a shot. If your not it's not worth it. EDIT: had to switch my review to a no, after it glitched yet another championship. thats like 4 or 5 now in maybe 15 championship matches. this is a management style sim that doesn't let your management decisions go through, so it's fundamentally broken.5 found this helpful
THE GOOD 1. Pleasing to the eye. 2. Deep without being overwhelming. 3. Scratches the fantasy booking itch. 4. Can be customised to a limited extant. THE BAD 1. Constrained to rosters split 50 / 50 between men and women. 2. No means to imports logos or graphics. 3. Limited hairstyles and outfits. THE UGLY 1. Wrestler ratings cannot be edited within the game. There is -- in theory -- a workaround, but, I have not succeeded in finding it, yet. SUMMARY Well worth the investment if you enjoy booking and management sims.2 found this helpful
Sort of a streamlined TEW with configurable wrestler sprites and **MUCH** more transparency regarding how matches and events are scored.

This game is terrible...has no sound at all! Who wants to read about what is happening, there is no action at all.
