About Chaos
Wake up from your eternal sleep and vanquish powerful enemies while wielding a multitude of weapons, shields, and magic abilities. Harness the Chaos Energy from your foes and increase your power to help you in your quest.....
The first official title to be released by ShenaniganZ Studio, Chaos is a solo-developed 3rd-person Action RPG set in an unknown time where the world is wrought with creatures from your worst nightmares. Carve your way through manifestations of chaos energy and stop the cult of the nameless god from waking the dark entity and ending reality as we know it.
This game is a nod to a specific group of successful/popular genres and draws obvious inspiration from the many elements and themes they portray. It features a unique story based loosely on an obscure Lovecraftian-horror short story with some minor twists and additions to the mechanics of a typical souls-like. As a solo-developed project by a less than skilled programmer who also lacks anything remotely close to artistic ability, on an almost non-existent budget, much of the artwork and assets featured in the game are community contributions via asset stores and individually contracted work.
The game features simplified 3D Action RPG elements, such as a leveling and resource management system, with the highlights of a souls-like melee and magic ability combat system as well as full gamepad/controller support with a custom 3D cursor.
I am patiently waiting and am appreciative of all player feedback that I can use to make this game more enjoyable. Thank you for supporting me!

this is the first game that i have played from a SOLO developer and i must say, it is pretty fun! sure set the bar high for other SOLO developers. graphics and movements are real smooth and they stay on top of the updates. you can also email bugs into the developers and they will fix them right away. overall really good quality! i assume the game is not 100 percent complete with how often it is updated which is not a bad thing. youre not buying this game expecting it to run like dark souls are you? no, but i admire the work thats been put into this game.2 found this helpful
I played 30 Minutes of this because that is all I could play. This game was so... unique that I made a garbage YT Video review just showing the first, starting, area. First off, I want to say that I am not a GOD at Souls-Like games, BUT I do enjoy them here and there. Secondly, There are better options, IF you want Souls-Like. Code Vein, The Surge (1 and 2), Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Bloodborne... yea. NOW FOR MY REVIEW!! (FOLLOW CHILLIOUS REVIEWS FOR MORE!!) To start off you see the splash screens and then the main menu, the main menu is fairly bland. AND it is worth mentioning that IF you play with a controller the mouse STOPS WORKING, It no longer responds to movement or clicks, instead the Left Joystick moves the cursor, and at sickening speed. The game also launched in Windowed Mode for me, which was annoying. Games should never start in windowed mode. So you start the game, New game, pick a name, I made my first character Fartimus, and his son Fartimus II was the character in the video I made. Playing on HIGH Graphics, everything looked LOW quality, textures looked AWFUL, the details on the characters were blurry, the lighting/shading were flat, it looked pre-2005, Halo CE …2 found this helpful
I'm only 3 hours in the game now when i'm writing this, so it might change when i beat it (if i beat it of course) So first impressions were not really good to be honest but it's also because i'm used to play with medium or high settings as my computer is not a beast. The textures were a bit poor and unpolished so i tried the "ultra" settings and it was much better. Even though i had to turn it back down to "high" when i reached the prison because the game was lagging A LOT ! But it might come from my machine, maybe. The controls and the combat feel slow and clunky, it took me some time to get used to it. I was actually about to rage quit when i encounter the Cyclop. And then i tried again, 2 more times and understood the mechanics and got him. So i thought "ok, let's continue and see" Right now i just killed the 3rd boss and i'm getting used to the gameplay and rythm of the whole thing. So basically i thought it was hard to get into as i was expecting some Dark Souls like experience and in a way it is a bit like Dark Souls, with less polish of course as it's made by one guy only and not a whole team I want to say thank you for doing this, thank you for the effort and congrats…2 found this helpful

it was just kinda stinky. played sorceress, found only 1 spell, couldn't use it, stats too low. normal enemies die in 1-2 hits, bosses take a billion hits. there's 0 area of effect on anything in this game, 0. I have a special move that does a big slam explosion, it's cool, only hurts the 1st thing it hits. there are better scuffed janky souls games on steam, sorry. it's not like a super bad game or anything, it's just like kinda boring and the jank isn't super janky. it's just like extremely alright.
This is actually a pretty good game. You need to temper your expectations a bit, it is made by a solo developer and is certainly not AAA quality graphics. It definitely scratches the Dark Souls itch, and really has a certain retro feel that takes me back to Playstation 2 and even Nintendo 64 era gaming. The classes feel a little bit imbalanced so far, the spellcaster feels too weak and then suddenly starts to feel too powerful by nature of long range damage vs. melee enemies. I feel like this is a great buy on sale & even worth it at full price if you enjoy this genre.
