About Warhammer: Chaosbane
Fight through hordes of Chaos monsters across the Warhammer Fantasy world as one of five unique character classes, wielding devastating powers and artifacts in solo or 4-player co-op combat. This hack-and-slash action RPG features a custom story by Black Library author Mike Lee, over 70 enemy types, and scaling difficulty across story mode, boss rushes, and procedural dungeons designed for cooperative synergy.

In a world ravaged by war and dominated by magic, you are the last hope for the Empire of Man against the Chaos hordes. Playing solo or with up to 4 in local or online co-op, choose a hero from 5 character classes with unique and complementary skills, and prepare for epic battles wielding some of the most powerful artefacts of the Old World.
• THE FIRST HACK AND SLASH set in the Warhammer Fantasy world, told through an all-new story written by Mike Lee (a Black Library author) and featuring a soundtrack composed by Chance Thomas.
• FEROCIOUS BATTLES: from the sewers of Nuln to the ruined streets of Praag, fight your way through monster hordes using over 180 different powers. Activate your bloodlust, a devastating skill, to escape the most perilous situations.
• 5 CHARACTER CLASSES, each with unique skills and customisation: a soldier of the Empire who can take heavy damage, a Dwarf specialised in melee combat, a High Elf who deals ranged damage by manipulating magic, a Wood Elf who lays deadly traps and wields the bow like no other, or a versatile Dwarf Engineer who can blow off steam, literally!
• AN XXL BESTIARY with over 70 monsters aligned with the Chaos Gods and unique bosses. Battle Nurgle's minions, Khorne's spawn and waves of other vile creatures!
• OPTIMIZED FOR CO-OP: solo or with up to 4 players, local or online, the class synergy and interface have been designed for co-op. Combine different skills and powers to create even more devastating effects.
• HIGH REPLAY VALUE: Story mode, a boss rush mode, countless dungeons and regular updates offer a rich and varied gaming experience. And with 10 difficulty levels, you can find the right challenge to test your abilities.

The amount of people reviewing this game and claiming there is no build freedom must not know what that even means, This game is heavily inspired by Diablo 3 where you unlock new abilities as you level up and must pick and choose which ones to use. You can swap them around at any time giving you plenty of freedom. There are tons of build variations with differing playstyles for each character. It's not the best game ever made by any stretch but "not even worth it for 3 bucks" is one hell of a bad review for something I would of been fine paying full price. And i bought it for less than 2 dollars! Chaosbane does not deserve it's mixed rating it's a good time especially if it's on sale for dirt cheap. I can't figure out what these ARPG enjoyers are expecting out of their games. They aren't deep experiences no matter which one you play.3 found this helpful
NEVER saw that game before 2026! I'm a Diablo fan and i love this game in the warhammer univers!1 found this helpful
if you buy it on sale, the game is fine for a single playthrough. the story isn't the best, but you can run around and beat up some dummies.1 found this helpful
Short and sweet and better than dragonkin. It's more staightforward arpg. It lacks the carrot on the stick to keep you playing ie. yang's recurve, the furnace in d3, grift and gem juicing....The story is very short and all the repeatitive game modes after the story. A bargain bin game (steam sale).
The game is alright. similar style to diablo i wouldn't pay off sale price and no achievements for DLC quest lines
Horrible game. Enemies constantly run past you instead of fighting you, making melee combat feel awkward from the very beginning. Combat is little more than mindless button mashing. Most encounters are trivial, but then you suddenly run into bosses that can kill you almost instantly. Even with the strongest weapons I could find, many enemies still took far too long to kill. I spent most of my time following waypoint markers through repetitive environments instead of making interesting decisions. I feel like the only thing this game accomplished was wasting my time.
