Chaos Chain

Another glorious smash hit JRPG by Corrosive! Like early corrosive JRPGs such as Disgraced and Lawless Lands--Also big favorites for me--this is a highly immersive game with big vibe and mood, evocative writing, and thoughtfully challenging turn based action. I especially love the random travel encounters, and I don't just mean random combat encounters! You never know what you are going to get. You might overhear a stranger's annoying phone conversation, get accidentally delivered someone else's lunch by a malfunctioning delivery drone, or get slapped (literally) for something you didn't even do (I'd love to say more about this but I bite my spoilery tongue)! There is enough of this going on that I have not had the same random encounter twice in 11 hours of gameplay and numerous zone transitions. Another reviewer compared this to the old school Sega Genesis Shadowrun game--a classic favorite of mine--and I find the comparison to be apt! There seems to be procedurally random generated quest/job content, and in addition to being able to customize your gear, you can also modify your body with cyware and bioware (although you will begin to feel the existential weight of giving up…

Upon launching, error window appears: System\RGSS301.dll is not a valid Win32 application. After several attempts, I still couldn't launch the game. Refunding for now.

Really fun mid-apocalypse style game. Everything is going to pot and you are a regular dude/dudet just trying to survive in this effed up world. Story lines have been fun so far. Creator keeps updating and hopefully continues too. Definitely worth the few bucks for many hours of fun.

I was positive surprised after buying and trying the game. Ibought it in the complete bundle after seeing gameplay and because i love cyberpunk, RPGs and gritty games. So already a lot of points for the game. But do not be decieved, the game is hard if you let it! I have a lot of fun with it, for somone who loves to explore and try a lot of things, it is a fantastic tale. I hope there will be a lot of optimisation and updates to come. My opinion is try it, I have a lot of fun playing it.

Aside from having to re-verify the game files each update, the game works well enough. Still limited by the engine, but it's a good Cyberpunk style game.
