About Deadlink

✦ AI summary

Pilot an experimental combat shell through randomized cyberpunk missions, wielding customizable weapons and devastating destructible environments to take down corporate overlords. Each roguelite run throws you into intense action where you must constantly move and adapt your playstyle, growing stronger with every shell you sacrifice in service of the greater cause.

Deadlink is a cyberpunk FPS with roguelite elements. You're an elite operative recruited to the experimental Deadlink project. Pilot an autonomous combat shell, fighting your way through cramped slums, twisted labs, grimy warehouses, and sleek office buildings on a mission to thwart the schemes of the most powerful corporations in the world. Wield a deadly arsenal, upgrade your skills and tech, devastate destructible environments, and slash corporate profit margins — all at the same time.
You are the Corporate Security Agency’s greatest weapon, and it's your job to make sure the corporations and their shady deals are anything but secure. With the team at HQ backing you up, you're tossed headfirst into the fray, where a military operation with plausible deniability can fix things for a fraction of the cost of a hopeless court case.
Every randomized run will be different, but one thing never changes: you will be outnumbered. Get ready to think on your feet as you dash, jump, and use the environment to your advantage. You can't still, not even for a second.
Equip your shell with powerful weapon loadouts. Try out various combinations as you blaze a path of destruction. Want to snipe your foes from a distance, debilitate them with status effects, or just go in guns blazing? Whatever your playstyle, you can find the right kit for the job.
Your enemies have no shortage of bullets and bodies to throw at you. But you're no slouch either. Sure, you might lose a combat shell here and there, but your next one will be even tougher. Start each new run with amped-up skills and deadlier firepower!

The demo was great, and I expected to have fun with the full release, but ultimately the "FPS with roguelite elements" moniker turned out to be false advertising. There are no roguelite elements - it's just a roguelite, a very short one, with the difficulty cranked through the roof just to hide how little content there actually is, and most of the progression is nowhere to be found. Disappointing.

A fantastic first roguelike – with huge co-op potential Deadlink is my first roguelike, and I had a blast. The fast-paced combat, the inputs, and the cyberpunk vibe grabbed me from the start. Even when things got chaotic, I couldn't stop hitting “one more run.” The difficulty – tough but (mostly) fair I won't lie: the difficulty sometimes feels a little unfair. Spikes can hit hard, and certain encounters feel like they’re balanced more for punishment than for learning. But even in those moments, the core fun kept me coming back. Multiplayer potential (2-player would be perfect) This is the part I really want to highlight: Deadlink has serious potential for co-op. Not four players – that would be too messy – but a tight 2-player mode. Two-player co-op would let you combo abilities, revive each other, and share the chaos without turning the screen into a firework factory. And here’s the thing: the difficulty as it stands right now would feel perfectly tuned for two players. The moments that seem a bit too punishing solo would become tense, teamwork-driven highlights instead. A wish, not a complaint I’m not saying the game is incomplete – it’s a great solo experience. But adding an…

Game is fun but it tends to become repetitive after a few hours. I didn't really feel like beating the end boss, but might give it another shot.
