About City Z

Fear or desire to survive - which is closer to you? The VR zombie shooter City Z is your way to find out the answer. To get out of the ruins of the City, you will have to walk along the parapet over the abyss, learn to navigate in the dark and shoot hundreds of walking dead. You have no limits other than your own fears. Zombies have no desires other than the desire to kill. Are you ready for such a rehearsal of the apocalypse? Put on your armor, choose a rifle or a shotgun - now you are part of a special forces group. Your mission is to get to the top of the building and stay alive.

It's a free short zombie shooter game with a full campaign. The video in the store is extremely misleading... there is no multiplayer and melee weapons. Achievements seems to be broken. The game is pretty barebones compared to the video presentation, but it's still enjoyable for what it is.

Picked this up expected to roast another VR zombie wave shooter, but hell, I played through to the end in 24 minutes including the time I spent rebinding my controllers via Steam, and it's free, so I'm not gonna. Here's some constructively critical points instead: 1) Index controls. biggest gripe until I figured it out. The default binds need changed to make sense. By default the grip teleports AND two hands a weapon. This needs to be changed. I switched teleport to left A on index via Steam binds. 2) The story. There's some vague notion of rescuing someone? Or something. But we never get there. It ends with a boss fight 3) Reload. The auto reload seems way too slow. Manual reload would be faster. 4) Difficulty to completion. There wasn't any. Like I died, but because the continuation respawn mechanic is infinite, and that impacts the scores, but I got through. Which is one-and-done fine. 5) Locomotion. Teleport is terrible unless it's an option. It's not an option, there's only one mode of locomotion that I found. So yeah, if this game is some sort of demo for VR arcades, it's fine. If it's a free proof of concept for a larger game, it's fine. It's a wave shooter, but it…

i think it's lame you kill a few zombies then push generator button and move to the next area the gameplay loop is boreing it looked good but it feels like it's less made for vr since you can't use the vr joysticks to move it seems way to hecktic for it having to move in a small area fast to avoid damage
