About CITYVENTORY
CITYVENTORY is a unique city builder game with a fresh perspective. Unlike traditional city builders, you can freely move and reposition your tiles at any time! However, careful planning is still essential, as any unused tiles are lost when the round ends.The main objective in CITYVENTORY is to synergize tiles to maximize your score. Some tiles have synergies, offering bonus points when placed together. For example, mills gain additional points for each adjacent farm, and farms also boost each other’s points. However, mills have a negative synergy with other mills, so placing two mills next to each other will cause you to lose points.Once you reach the required points to advance to the next goal, you unlock a new tile type to expand your synergy opportunities. You’ll be able to choose from three available tiles to add to your tile pool and you’ll also receive one guaranteed copy of it. Your choice may depend on the tiles already placed or the terrain features of your city.When you score enough points to advance to a new stage, you can expand your city, giving you more space to work with. Once your city is fully expanded, continuing to earn points will allow you to unlock larger cities with diverse features and challenges.

I wish there was a neutral review. For the price of the game, I can't say it's bad. And the concept is fun. But its lacking a few things. There's no tutorial, just a couple on screen blurbs about placement. I had no idea you could move pieces until I'd played for about an hour. I had no idea you could rotate pieces until I came here to write a review and scrolled past the screenshots. It doesn't even really need a tutorial but an on-screen keybind guide would be nice. I didn't realize R reset your game (I didn't get tabbed off the game by accident, started typing and reset one of the few good runs I had). The tile draw rng seems extremely weighted towards large buildings. The majority of my games ended before level 1 due to drawing an overwhelming amount of large buildings with no supporting tiles to point with. With the limited starting space what in the world can you do with 7 town halls in the first 15 draws. It just didn't feel good to play when 9 out of 10 starts ended within minutes due to bad draw rng.2 found this helpful
Saw a video on it, looked fun, and now myself and everyone I know is hooked send help. It's clearly a new game with some weird bugs and I hope it receives updates to address them, but man this game is a blast. The high score seems to reset or show random other numbers like a more recent run rather than an all time high. Would love if the UI elements were movable, or at least less obtrusive (the end round button feels weirdly in the way when the map gets larger). The game would be really neat if the map new game+ went beyond map 3, and when the map is at full size, seeing the expansion option makes me assume this was intended, or at least for now I wish there was a way to hide the spare expansions when the board is maxed out. Also not sure if intended, but the no new tiles at milestone 3000 and 3200 are brutal, or at least the final hurdle for everyone I know who plays, seeing how neither give extra tiles. Really, I just have a bunch of things I wanna see added or fixed or changed because this game is incredible and I wanted to write a review to highlight some of those things. Great little game that plays well on the steam deck!
A good time waster, shallow as it is
Really fun game with very addictive base mechanic at an extremely low price! Would love a full Steam Deck support - currently, the game doesn't switch to controller on Deck, forcing the mouse controls instead, making it playable, but not as fun as on PC.
