Cloud Cats` Land

XD[/h1] [h2]Introduction[/h2] [i]Cloud Cats' Land[/i] is an adventure point-and-click, puzzle game with plenty of exploration developed and published by PurrMurrMeow Games. You take on the role of a cat who's the companion of a ship captain. Discovering that the captain has disappeared, you find yourself surrounded by a sea serpent that's attacking the ship. Somehow, you're able to escape, but you end up on an island that's full of mysterious cats. Can you find a way to get off the island while solving the island's mysteries? :o With the gameplay, you can choose from among two difficulty levels: normal or easy. (For review purposes, I chose to play on normal mode.) It mainly consists of point-and-click elements in which you interact with objects using your left mouse button. You can combine items that you place in your inventory backpack, and there are collectibles, too. Plenty of puzzles are present as well that provide plenty of variety. Cloud Cats’ Land has a cozy atmosphere and charming visuals, but the puzzle design often relies on trial and error rather than logical problem-solving. As someone experienced with point & click puzzle games, I found myself stuck repeatedly without clear guidance. For this reason, I cannot recommend it.

Pros - Nice colorful graphics - Entirely playable with mouse. - The small bit of narrative through finding notes kept things interesting. Cons - Some of the puzzle logic was insane. Really old school point and click klnd of nonsense. There is a tentacle in one of the final rooms which I think shows where this game got its inspiration from. Anyway I guess some people might apreaciate this kind of thing out of nostalgia. Overall it gets a recommend but be prepared to try everything with everything.

It is cute, but it is bleeding from so many wounds. Controls are a mess. You examine things with the right click and use the left. Except you examine with the left click as well, so you constantly examine things when you try to close something. Also, some puzzles are not intuitive at all. Like the flower puzzle, where you need to click on the teleporting flower multiple times until it stops 3 screens later, then use the oar as a shovel. The problem is that when you click on the flower and don't do anything with it for a time, it resets. So, there is no indication you have to click on multiple times, or you can use the oar as a shovel. And this is just one example.

That ending was so funny and it all made sense xD

Ah!! Cats!! Now I love games with kitties as well as adventure games. The art and gameplay quality is spot on. The only reason I can't in good faith recommend this game is all the inventory and puzzles follow zero logic. You'll spend more time figuring out what is for what that the game itself gets buried in the background. Sad. I really wanted to like this game too. >_< .. Refunded it..
