hate to be so harsh since its obvious that the dev has a vision and is just young and inexperienced, but that doesnt make the game a fun time, even for free. others note the bad platforming; it IS bad, but not because of the core movement (which is different than one may be used to but not inherently bad). collision is really inconsistently drawn, and your jumps get eaten if you're standing too close to any vertical surface. there's also a LOT of waiting for moving platforms. moving platforms also aren't synced with each other, causing even more waiting. puzzles have cool ideas but don't really go far enough to require actual thought. environments on a large scale are cool but room-by-room just feel cobbled together to fit whatever the puzzle needs it to be with some random props on top for good measure. sometimes those props obscure your vision in a way that makes you have to look at the main puzzle element in your peripherals, which isn't a HUGE deal, but does show that there wasn't much thought and/or tweaking. combined with the weird collision, i'd assume there was little to no outside playtesting. i feel similarly about the artstyle, it looks great on a broad scale but t…

It’s seriously insane how one 13 year old asian kid basically invented the puzzle platformer genre and Valve stole it to create Portal. 4 out of 5 stars. (minus one star for using the British spelling of “Colorblind”) UPDATED REVIEW after rage quitting on that puzzle in chapter 2 everyone is talking about: yeah teh jumping is brokee and made me rage quit in chapter 2. The kid is 16 now, so he should be able to come back and fix it while still holding the title of prodigy game developer.

Just an absolute colossal fail at programming the right physics and environment for platforming. If you are going to copy so many elements from Portal, then at least get the jumping right.... Couldn't get past Chapter 2. The dev uploaded a full playthough so you can follow along if you really want those achievements, but I would steer clear.

I truly applaud this game's ambition. Making a game on this scale with this level of gameplay variety (and voiced characters and a story!) is no small feat. Even more-so that this game is free! But I feel like its ambition lends the game to show its weaknesses too often, to the point where the good parts don't get a chance to shine. It has good puzzles, I wanted more, but, yeah, I also dipped at that stealth section in Chapter 2. After listening to the developer commentary that the stealth section was reworked 3 times, I think the better move would've been to cut it and make the game more concise. It makes me wonder if the game as a whole would've benefit from having less overall, so the best parts took up more of the playtime. I liked the atmosphere, I liked exploring the city, I loved the character animation and voice acting, and the puzzles were pretty good! I just wish the game played to its strengths better, and I fear its ambition prevented that from happening. But I really hope IcarusDev keeps making more games, I am eager to play more from someone with an eye for overall presentation and narrative in games.

The game is very interesting but there are no clues where to go. I don’t mean that the game should tell you what to do, but it should also indicate where to solve the puzzle. And on the plus side I will also say that the game gives you the tools to solve the puzzle, but you have to solve it yourself.
