Command & Conquer Red Alert™ 2 and Yuri’s Revenge™

An obvious must-have for any fan of the RTS genre (as few of us as there are these days). Any RTS folks out there are already going to know this absolute classic, and anybody who doesn't probably isn't going to become an RTS player, so I feel as though any review I can leave would be kind of pointless. If you know, you know: This game is among the genre's greatest. Even the now-primitive visuals age quite well when you scale up the resolution. The soundtrack absolutely f*cks and will get stuck in your head all the time. The gameplay is still to this day among the best the genre has to offer. Between the visual style, the cutscenes, the voice acting, everything... The game is absolutely overflowing with personality. This is truly an example of the peak era of game design culture where the technical and artistic talent were truly passionate and loved what they were doing, and were actually able to lead the production of the game rather than be subjected to the narrow, lowest-common-denominator minds of soulless corporate overlords. mt first time playing this in middle school (my dad showed me this game), i genuinely love it more than the other cnc games
