✦ AI summary

Players praise this retro-inspired platformer for its tight controls, catchy music, and well-designed levels that effectively capture classic 80s and 90s gaming aesthetics. The gameplay mechanics are straightforward with satisfying combat, hidden collectibles, and an armor upgrade system that encourage exploration and replayability, while the simple story premise fits the homage style perfectly despite containing more lore than initially apparent. The main appeal lies in its accessibility for fans of classic Mega Man and retro platformers, making it a solid choice for those seeking a nostalgic

There’s not much to say about the story at first glance. It’s a classic example of a kidnapped girlfriend and a hero who sets out to rescue her, only to end up saving the entire world in the process. Since this game is meant as a homage to classic platformers, where this kind of simple premise was all the motivation you needed, it’s hard to complain. However, beneath that seemingly straightforward setup lies a surprising amount of lore, told through short conversations and cutscenes that appear between stages. The same philosophy of homage and simplicity extends to the controls. Besides the standard movement to the left and right, jumping, and attacking, the hero can also enter doorways using the up button and crouch with the down button. Crouching allows you to dodge enemy fire or attack enemies positioned close to the ground. The most important mechanic for navigating the stages, however, is wall jumping. This ability lets the hero scale virtually any vertical surface. Performing a wall jump is easy: simply jump into a wall and hold the directional button toward it. The hero will stick to the wall and slowly slide downward. Pressing the jump button again will propel you upward…

"At stage 3 at the time of this review" Good music and level design. Gameplay is run n gun putting the 'run' in the genre since you will be running from a projectile to then counter attack (often against boss fights). Style is similar to that of gravity circuit, however I like this game better since you at least have a ranged attack and can study the boss patterns. story is simple saving Earth and your girlfriend from an alien invasion. So far I recommend this game it has 3 hidden gems to collect per stage (looks like 6 stages in total) similar to the New Super Mario Bros series of collectibles and has an armor system that looks like it reduces damage you take and gives you a farther more powerful shot. If you like retro games especially the Mega Man Gameboy series, you'll like this one.
