Knight's Night! is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. And this is certainly one of the laziest, worst put together platformer ever made. Mechanically this is a ripoff of Super Mario Bros only the developers wouldn't work out breaking bricks with your head, so it lacks many of the features and gimmicks of SMB. The developers, embarrassingly, claim this is a "1 bit platformer" because they were lazy and used monochrome graphics, lazy even for pixelcrap. This reveals a lot about the devs not understanding the basics of gaming and modern computing. The "bit count" (8 bit, 16 bit) refers to the processor data path... no computer was ever made with a 1-bit data path. That's a stupid idea. When we talk about data path, what this means is the computers ALI and the size of the registers (think of these as the beads on an abacus, but each register holds a bunch of data). Old computers (including stuff like the NES and Commodore 64) had an 8 bit bus, meaning the registers could only carry 255 characters around. Bust that up to 16 bits and suddenly you're pushing exponential amount…

A good game that will probably get lost in the shuffle.

This is an awesome little platformer! It can be fairly challenging at times. There are no achievements, but a hidden collectible on each of the 25 levels. Recommended.

The music doesn't loop, so I got a suprisingly eerie experience. This game can be quite difficult in the fun way, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.

Knight's Night! is a retro-style platforming adventure developed by NipoBox and published by NipoBox Publishing that embraces the design philosophies of classic side-scrolling games while presenting them through a distinctive monochrome visual style. Rather than relying on modern trends such as open-world exploration, extensive skill trees, or complex storytelling systems, the game focuses on carefully crafted levels, precise movement, hidden collectibles, and steady progression. The result is a straightforward but charming experience that captures the spirit of older platformers while maintaining enough personality to stand on its own. The story is intentionally simple and easy to understand. An evil wizard has seized control of the kingdom, throwing the land into chaos and leaving its people in need of a hero. Players assume the role of a brave knight who embarks on a dangerous journey to confront this threat and restore peace. While the narrative never becomes particularly elaborate, it provides a fitting backdrop for the adventure and evokes the timeless fantasy tales that inspired many of the platforming classics of previous generations. What immediately sets Knight's Night!…

Knight's Night! is the perfect little game to play when you have a few minutes to burn while waiting for someone or something. It's very simple in its game play as there's only a couple of skills you learn throughout your journey. There's no inventory, skill trees or anything like that at all here. This game is just a pure old-school style 2d platformer. The level design it pretty good imho. There are skips and alternate routes you can take along with hidden items in every level. But they're not always accessible to you until you unlock things like the double jump or the dash. There's also no reward other than bragging rights for finding all of the hidden collectibles afaik I didn't like the music and sounds at first, they're a little crunchy and sounds like they've been compressed to hell and back. But, in all honesty, it really works and adds to the 1bit astetic. And please do not misunderstand, the music is actually very good, it just sounds like a 16bit mp3. Overall, Knight's Night! is a simple, fun, addicting and challenging at times but not overly difficult game. I think it's great fun for a good value (even at full price). I would like to see a sequel to this game and …
