Definitely glitchy with a clunky UI, but the gene-editing and evolution simulation is incredible. Tons of fun. Even just playing with plants kept me entertained for hours before I started evolving my flatworms into anything. The tutorials help get the hang of things and are necessary because there's so little labelling in the UI.

Couldn't get passed even the tutorial because the instructions were terribly unclear and downright obtuse. It could be the most amazing game in the world but I'll never know because it doesn't make itself accessible. It's mostly silent text dump that [i]occasionally[/i] highlights the button you're supposed to click, but that's as interactive as it gets. The specific bit that made me throw my hands up and request a refund was the bit where you were supposed to "inject a seed with mutagen." Kept telling me to "click on the seed" but there's no seed on screen, no directions or even a description of where I might find it. It could be the most mind-bending awesome game to ever be put to code, but I'll never know because it makes only the most token effort to be accessible. Put in a request for a refund a few minutes ago.

It's definitely not your average aquarium game. But if you like messing around on someone/something's genes and are willing to learn for this about what aminoacids are and what each one does, then this is THE Game for YOU! (I didn't bother to know that in school, but this game is so much fun that i work up that knowledge now, 30 years later or so.)
