Creekside Creep Invasion

I went into this game thinking it was going to be a gimmicky halloween game, but it's pretty fun and has enough replayability to keep you playing. This is a twin stick rougue-lite with a persistent upgradable shop so that you start out with more advantages as you play the game. Think Rogue Legacy's upgrade system, only instead of buying individual perks, you collect tokens which upgrades your shop, unlocks costumes, etc. Would reccommend if that sounds like your thing.

This is a extremely fun action rogue-lite/rogue-like game with a 1980's Halloween theme that has become one of my all time favorites. It has procedural generation (No two runs the same) with hidden and very difficult areas throughout the game. Ability to shoot in any direction with crazy cool Halloween themed ammo (like eggs,candy corn, and the ability to make all ammo explosive) that automatically changes to different ammo when current ammo is exhausted. You have gigantic bosses that drop gigantic loot. You have a 5 slot perk based armor that could give you good or bad effects. Controls work great on keyboard, which I play mainly.One of my favorite things beside all I have listed already is costumes.Yes....you get Halloween costumes that have active and passive abilities which make for some really fun runs. More are being added to the game frequently.I don't want to give to much information that may spoil others fun away so, I will just say again the costumes really and I mean really change each run in a super fun way like no other rogue-lite/like has for me. Love this game! Great graphics and soundtrack, pure 80's Halloween nostalgia

I LOVE rogue-lites and rogue-likes, and the occasional twin stick shooter. This game sort of fits both shoes without leaning left or right to hard. This is a gem. Character progression follows in a large number of unlockables which are rewarded for their corresponding coin or token, each has a upwards facing arrow but in different colors. Collecting these in numbers unlocks weapons, costumes and upgrades the Store - your spawn point and safe area found after each world/area. The Costumes are basically your special weapon. By spending some of your Stamina you can use the special attacks. The weapons occasionally kill me. Namely the fireworks due to the timed detonation. Basically they are landmines. The ammo you get is decided by random and whenever your immediate weapons ammo is depleted you are given a random new type of ammo. If you are unloading on enemies with bullets then all of a sudden your machine gun starts dropping land mines at your feet you can see how that can lead to a bad day. Mow down the brainwashed trick-or-treaters and save the holiday. The gameplay can be defined as arena shooter. Each stage is a small area filled with enemies and environmental obstacles. While the environments change as you move through four locations, the main mechanic remains the same from beginning to end. All you have to do is defeat all of the enemies in the room to remove the barrier and progress through enough rooms to attain your goal. Although you can sometimes choose between two paths, it does not matter because each room leads you closer to your goal. Each location (street, cemetery, suburbs, and carnival) has a distinct goal, but the procedure is always same. When you have completed the mission, you will proceed to the next area. Aside from movement and shooting, your character can only jump back to swiftly dodge a bullet, or perform a special skill that uses energy. Instead of acquiring new weapons, the game offers a unique feature in which you receive a new weapon each time you expend all of the bullets for the current weapon. This might be a bowling ball, a firecracker, or something bad, such as a fireworks rocket with a short range and the potential to harm you.…

It's like a low-rent Death Road to Canada (which is an awesome game), but it's hobbled by poor controls.
