Crime Cities . Strange game. Great music. We control a flying automobile and we shoot. Enjoyable flights through futuristic cities. It's hard to figure out what I'm supposed to do. . Controls: WASD LMB to shoot Numbers to change weapon E to open information about allies X to open star police location, V to close star police location Tab opens map Enter to open ship menu PgUP and PgDn to switch menu . Mechanics and features: Cool and beautiful intro video that explains the setting. The story is about a pandemic on different planets in a futuristic world. Ship menu includes: flyer status, GMS weapon shop, GMS flyer gear shop, ICNB mission menu3 found this helpful
Not sure why but the game crashes when I'm in shop menu. I anyone know a fix, please do tell me. Until then, I cannot recommend this game.3 found this helpful
Fun game, though lacks modern support
Crime Cities is one of those games that does something I've never really seen done in any other game, even now in 2026, slowly closing onto three decades since the release of the game. Just the concept alone of driving a flying car in different cities on different planets as you do odd jobs and blast through enemies is something I wish I could've experienced sooner as the execution is also really well done. It's not too hard to get used to the controls, the mechanics aren't too complex and it's easy to get into and learn. Now, why don't I recommend buying this game? From my experience on two different operating systems (Windows, Linux CachyOS) the game crashes at points which are kind of crucial to the progression in the game. You can spend maybe 15 minutes just flying around, getting used to the controls, doing your first few jobs but whenever you access the weapon or equipment shop the game freezes and either crashes or forces you to close it. Now you probably could get through a significant chunk of the game without buying anything, especially on Very Easy difficulty but that kind of ruins the progression in the…2 found this helpful
Good game but really broken the main problem with me (and it seems like with other people aswell) that there is a shop menu but everytime i enter it the game freezes i do love some of the complexity of this game and the scenery for a 2000s game is so cool its a shame that it just has 1 glitch that always freezes the game1 found this helpful
Crime Cities, developed and published by Techland, is an early 3D-era experiment that blends vehicular combat, mission-based progression, and a loose open-world structure into a cyberpunk setting that feels both ambitious and uneven. As Techland’s debut title from 2000, it carries the marks of a studio exploring ideas that would later become more refined in the broader industry. It doesn’t always succeed in execution, but its willingness to combine genres gives it a distinct identity even decades later. The game is set in a dystopian future where criminals have been exiled to a remote planetary system and left to govern themselves. You play as an undercover operative infiltrating this chaotic society, navigating a network of factions and power struggles. While the premise suggests a rich narrative, the storytelling remains fairly minimal, delivered primarily through mission briefings and interactions rather than fully developed sequences. It provides enough context to justify the player’s actions, but it rarely becomes a driving force behind the experience. What sets Crime Cities apart is its complete reliance on vehicular gameplay. Every activity—from exploration to combat—takes…
