Three victims were found, and Melinda asks you again for help to look for clues if the murders are connected. Alphabetic Murders is the second game of the series Criminal Archives; you are playing once again as a crime reporter and notice a masked man who broke into the house of one of the victims to steal essential papers. You can investigate by collecting evidence and speaking to the witnesses, but the truth is far from what you could imagine. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3415135586 The artwork is as outstanding as the rest of the series, and the character's design is not bad, but I expected better from this series. What I enjoyed the most was the puzzle; there are multiple of them, and none is repetitive. The hidden objects scenes are nicely done, too. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3418013919 The game is quite long compared to other HOGs I've played; this one doesn't have the stars collection to choose your path, unlike the latest games. The collectibles are beautifully made; however, I wished there were Steam achievements for this one; there is an in-game achievement, though. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetai…

Playtime: 3-4 hrs Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆ Criminal Archives: Alphabetic Murders Collector's Edition is a point & click puzzle mystery hidden object game by Do Games Limited. Plot summary - Local constable Melinda Watson asks your help of solving murder which you quickly realize is connected to two other murders in the area. You are set to investigate the murder of young actor Collin Cox in the theater stage. More you investigate, more you seem to understand that these killings weren't completely random. You are met with strange masked man, who you are ought to catch. I'm not going to explain the plot from the extra chapter, because i never played it and i'll explain the multiple reasons why later in this review. First of all, i'm going to say this game has several flaws why i just can't justify myself to recommend this. Game mechanics are little bit off in my opinion, when you do some tasks it takes way too long to finish and i'm not generally the impatient type of a player. Like for example in the 'cut scene' after hay bale puzzle, why i need to see when the person takes every single hay bale out one by one? Could have just been that couple out and rest …

The puzzles and story were really stinky in this one.

<Game native resolution: 1366x768> A pattern is becoming clear to me with Domini Games' hidden object adventures. Similar to the last one I played, Christmas Fables: Holiday Guardians, the gameplay is more focused on puzzles than hidden object scenes. That's risky, since puzzles can be absolutely infuriating, depending on what they're asking of me. I did skip a few in Criminal Archives 2: Alphabetic Murders, but most are enjoyable. I've got to say that I don't enjoy Domini Games' formula for HOAGs as much. These games aren't smooth to play because of how many times progress gets interrupted by not knowing what to do next. The main scenes aren't painted in a way to draw attention to areas of interest, so I had to mouse over everything to see what I could zoom in on. The items used to solve problems are sometimes ridiculous. A wax candle is used to open a purse? Dafuq? The way I found that interaction was by trying all my inventory items on everything. No, the player character's chatter about interactive areas needing an item provide no clues about what to do, just like other Domini Games HOAGs I've played. There's a story here. I didn't follow it because there a…

It is a standard hidden object game. It is a bug free game. I finished the game + bonus game in 7 hours. I did not like the story. It was uninteresting story, and so were its characters . The inventory items needed to proceed (remove obstacles) were not always logical. I enjoyed most of the puzzls and hidden object puzzels.
