Gameplay stays simple and avoids complicated mechanics, relying on just four buttons in addition to movement. Three are used to fire weapons, while the fourth activates Overload, a mode that boosts your firepower. You can switch it on and off whenever you like, provided you have enough energy. Energy gradually replenishes whenever you're not firing. You start with only the plasma gun, but five additional weapons become available after clearing enough stages. Once unlocked, they can be assigned to either of your two weapon slots. The plasma gun is always equipped by default and cannot be replaced. Some weapons behave similarly to plasma and cost nothing to fire, while others consume energy. You also can't fire every weapon simultaneously, only one at a time. There are 14 stages in total, unlocked in packs. Beating a few available stages opens the next batch, and stages can be tackled in any order. Once unlocked, they remain available and can be replayed whenever you want. Unfortunately, the very first stage and final stage are also the weakest and immediately highlights the game's critical issue that almost makes the game unplayable.
