Crystal Cave

"Crystal Cave" is not to be confused with the Commodore 64 game "Crystal Caverns" or the iD Software/Apogee DOS title "Crystal Caves", instead, it's a short tech demo with some nice (yet obsolete 2D) graphics. This is a short platformer where you'll play three minigames (basic stuff like a ripoff of Pipe Dreams) and that's it. It's over before you knew it. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just a few minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. 3D graphics car…

Short but very beautiful and enjoyable. Gameplay consists of puzzles, each of which begins straightforward and ramps up to make you think harder by the end. The platforming aspect is easy and it's a relaxing game to play. Give it a go! Thank you to the developers for making this available free.

I don't know why this doesn't have any more reviews. For a free game it's pretty fun once you've got the knack of certain puzzles and knowing what you had to do. Art style was great on the platformer pieces, not too sure about the puzzles though. Music was good and the story was OK . The bees of knowledge were a nice touch. I would definitely played more levels if they were available. There's an interesting mix of gaming genres which breaks up the story. I would loved to have seen more of the platforming.

Short, free and... that's about it, really. The game asks you to complete 3 sets of trials. The first is extraordinarily difficult, the second is a walk in the park, while the third is a single multiple-choice question. It's very anticlimactic and ultimately a throw-away experience.

An okay water puzzle sim, with beginners level platforming. It's nice sprite work is just a little squandered on what's basically a children's mobile game. Needs work but runs ok after launching it three times. Not controller compatible, but you only need 4 keys and mouse controls to play.
