"Cubyte" is a very poorly made, minimalist top down/maze shooter where you control a minimalist 2D blob and do some pretty mediocre shooting through some 2D minimalist blob environments. To think this was published on Steam the same year as Black Myth: Wukong. That's the state of amateur game development. I wonder why this was such a huge failure on Steam? Let's go over some reasons. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", …1 found this helpful
My favorite game ever, this reminds me of the fish that I own when I was 5 years old.
The game had a nice cozy vibe... it reminded me of the flash games back in the good ol days. Definitely was nostalgic.
