Dadish is a 2d platforming game about a dad who is a radish. However, below the surface this game has the essence of all platformers. Yes, its simple and mostly quite easy, but that makes it all the easier to pick up and play. Whilst playing, I found myself admiring how cosy the experience was, from the absolute banger soundtrack to the pixelated fast-food enemies. The humour was a highlight. Almost every joke landed, and some made my sides split. The unexpectedness of some of the jokes and the dry humour made it funny, but the tired tone of Dadish throughout will relate to any parent, as well as giving younger people something to think about. The gameplay itself was terrific. Every level provided a new and unique challenge, or built off of an older one. Every one flows really well and is a delight to speedrun, adding tens of hours of replays. The game's difficulty curve was subtle, but whenever I thought about it I realised how far I had come in such a short time. Dadish is not the best 2d platformer. Not at all. However, Dadish is the ultimate 2d platformer. It embodies every aspect of any good sidescroller, and is a great way to pick up the platformer genre. Its not eve…

Now I hate hotdogs and mushrooms thanks to this game. Overall the only thing that really kept me to the end was dialogue. Kinda fit right into my humour, but unfortunetly gameplay did not. Mechanically, it's the most basic and not satisfying platformer I have ever played. The movement just feels so heavy and sluggish. On top of that, there's a lot of annoying elements, like the ones I mentioned in the first line. The mushrooms are just so random and you have zero control (except clicking a double jump) if you smash into any of the side ones on the walls. When it comes to hotdog enemies, I could not predict how the sausages will jump and over 50% of my deaths were most likely just to that. (ngl almost rage quit because I was so fed up with it xD) Maybe I'm just too tired, but I never had such issue with jumping projectiles in any other games. At least the game is really cheap. Hopefuly in the next games those issues are a little less apparent. Not that I will play them, but I wish good luck to the dev with further titles.

Just a really fun cute platformer.

It's nice to see how far the Dadish series has come. For this game though, the "all stars" achievement is missable and broken. If you don't connect to the internet when you collect the last star, you cannot get it anymore. Hope that other Dadish games come out of "profile features limited" territory.
