This game expresses the duality of man. Our need for success is diminished while experiencing this dreadful game. We become dulled by a small fried cake of sweetened dough. Humanity thrives when we adapt and build around our environment, this game punches you in the balls and screams "You have nothing" as you scramble and worm on the ground, trying to get back up to master the unbeatable. On one hand, this game gives you a path. But on the other, it gives you the void. The game gives you the tools to succeed in a situation that won't let you. This is the duality of man. "Donut Adventure" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a pointless platformer with a theme less involved than BurgerTime, you play as a donut doing platformer stuff. All you do is collect coins and jump to reach a destination in each level. Super Mario Bros has much more going on than this does... it's bizarre anyone would bother publishing this when it's so much more limited than even ancient, 30 year old games. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The lack of …1 found this helpful

This game is best played blind with 5.1 DTS surround sound volume maxed out. Ive never wanted coins and a donut so hard
