The famed writer Nathaniel Hawthorne has died during a freak snow storm, and his ghost has come to you, asking for help. There’s more to this case than first appears, and only you can help free his spirit. Why was it snowing in May? Could Hawthorne’s powerful friends and the Oval Office have something to do with the author’s untimely death? How do legends of witchcraft play into the death of a writer 170 years later?

I had a blast with this game. Usually h.o. don't have much (if any) story, but this is actually coherent. There are different puzzles and it felt like a game instead of an asset flip. It does, have 2 large cons. #1: For the achievements to work, you will need to load the game under the -achievements (beta) version. And rename the .exe file to MidnightMysteriesSalemWitchTrials.exe. It's VERY slow compared to the public version, but it's the only one that works for achievements! #2: If you enjoy getting full achievements and/or easter eggs (both of which matter to me!) I suggest you use the Bigfishgames walkthrough (https://www.bigfishgames.com/blog/walkthroughs/midnight-mysteries-the-salem-witch-trials.html), even though they don't mention Easter Eggs. At all. Ctrl + f and typing in the item it's with will make finding each easter egg items much, much faster. Aside from that, the game rocks. I played it 6 times. In a row. I was determined, fam. One way or another I was getting my goshdarn achievements. this game is awesome and historically accurate! i replay over and over i also recommend any Midnight Mysteries games
Rediscovered this game after over a decade of not remembering what it was called, only that it was about the Salem Witch Trials and involved lots of time travel. The imagery and story made it stick out to me, even 10+ years later. The story is gripping and the puzzles thought-provoking at times, but I wouldn't say they're difficult. Very good for a cozy, immersive hidden objects game and still holds up, even after all this time! Would definitely recommend to beginners to the genre or someone interested in the atmosphere & story.
Goss strategy short but fun.
Your average HO game but achievements are broken hence downvote.
It a fun hidden object, puzzle and observation game. Most of the hours playing was to win the achievements. Finding all of the clovers is the hardest, for me.
