Dark Mysteries: The Soul Keeper Collector's Edition

I really loved the Mystery Stories from Cerasus and so I had to play this one and... Well... It was more supernatural than "horror-like". Once more it's based on a novel and that is awesome. This game isn't as crazy as the Mystery Stories one, but... It still has its good points. For one... I could do all the mini-games. I really enjoyed the ones with having to move "two things at once". All because you can actually win by just walking around! And once again, the Developers offered us unique puzzles and a more investigative way to go through a H.O.G... As in... Not all items are just laying there for you to pick up and you just have to click around the room and you are good. >.> No... You gotta think... And you gotta work it! I also like that you get to pick up majority of the stuff from the H.O. scenes and they don't come back. So nice to finally have clean sections/rooms. *Pleased Sigh* Otherwise... You get a Bonus Story this time and it was fine for a H.O.G. Good stuff. :>

Great Lovecraftian hidden object adventure with bonus chapter! There is also a behind the scenes featurette showing the acting and all that went into making the game...including apparently a lot of coffee lol! Also a neat feature is that you can take items from your inventory and click on the eye on the bottom right of the screen, and it will show you where the item is used! This game also comes with the ability to download the original story by H. P. Lovecraft upon which this game is based!

It was just me I'm sure and not the game.. but I kept falling asleep in this one.. seemed kind of like it went on and on. Had no desire to play bonus round.

Really excellent Hidden Object game with nice artwork and a good soundtrack. Fun to play. The Lovecraftian atmosphere is a definite bonus.

A visually stunning game — truly a delight for the eyes. It follows a solid Lovecraftian-inspired story that keeps things interesting, but the puzzles are unfortunately far too easy. I also really missed having a map to navigate more quickly between locations, especially given how often backtracking is needed. A solid 6/10 for the art and atmosphere alone.

I went in expecting a basic "find the objects" game with some story in the background. I was not expecting what I got instead! "Dark Mysteries: The Sould Keeper" is a Lovecraft based game, in which a detective (the main character) is called by Charles to solve a series of murders that have been happening in his town, in an island in the middle of nowhere. However, once you arrive you realize Charles may know a bit more than he lets go, and not only everyone's lives are in danger, but yours too. The game is a mix between point and click and "find the objects". You move around picking everything you need, and sometimes you'll see a part of the scenery glowing, meaning you have to play the find the objects minigame, which will give you an item you need to progress. It's entertaining if you like these two genres, and the difficulty is easy-medium. The hint system is amazing, and I didn't need a walkthrough. The story has soooo many elements I love in a story: it's not overly complicated, but allows you to immerse yourself in its world.
