Honestly pretty solid. Introduces a lot of building blocks that come back (for better or worse) later in the series. This one really starts to establish a broader lore that isn't as connected to the first few games (at least not on first glance), and I found that to be fairly interesting. Shame they fumbled that concept pretty hard later on, but I won't hold that against this game. This game features some pretty decent voice acting, interesting and visually appealing locations, and decently solid work in guiding you from area to area. Generally speaking, I would consider this game to be the last of the original quality of the series. It's not quite as good as the previous three games, but the difference isn't as noticeable between this game and the previous three as it is between this game and the next few games. Long live the Red Riding Hood Sisters, and I'm so sorry you became an obligatory thing to throw in to a lot of the later games. Still, the point remains. This game is great :)
this is the 4th game i've played (in order) and it's my least favorite so far. a lot of the items are too hard to find because they're the exact same color as the background, and this has nothing to do with the actual game... but the character designs are awful. all of the red hoods look exactly the same. i was really surprised that it seemed like they got very lazy with the character designs. they also went way overboard with finding extra items. ever single thing in here has something to take with me, it becomes tedious and doesn't let me appreciate finding anything in the actual hidden objects scenes. the backgrounds and general settings are fantastic though
A really nice part. Im not that into the new style of briar rose. And one HOS is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you play on Expert. But apart from that a really nice game with a nice story. The overall gameplay is pretty much similar to the part before, which isnt bad. They added a voice to the parables, which is pretty nice. All in one, another great part, if the price wouldnt be such a downer. If you buy it on a great sale its really highly recommendable.
If you like point and click adventures and solving puzzles that are fun but not too taxing, I recommend the Dark Parables series. The games have a great storyline that can be played in each game or through the whole series, a dark twist on fairytales (ok the original tales were pretty dark, but this is dark and different than Grimm or Perrault). The hidden object puzzles are fun and involve assembling items you need, not just finding existing objects in a scene. My one criticism is that playing the game on "HARD" often resulted in me clicking through all available areas to find the next HOP/HOS or the item that I missed picking up to further the plot, but there's always the Strategy Guide to fall back on if I got too frustrated. Overall, love the gameplay, love the story, highly recommended.
Love this series. So much fun to play.
I really like the idea of the Red Riding Sisterhood, Imma steal it for meself
