Very important note: if the attack buttons are delayed or not registering (pressing the button 3-4 times until the attack registers), please close the game and
launch it again, this issue happens randomly and can be avoided easily, you would miss out the actual experience of the game and have a negative first impression
Abstract: DON'T BUY!!!
Dev abandoned the game, despite he knows the game is in a bad shape possible, he not removed it from the store, he knows it have bugs, achievements are broken, and still sell this crap for more than $ 1.25, his answer... play others game I made, those are better... L-A-M-E. I just reported it. Rate 0/10 - (☆☆☆☆☆)
thecrow256 [developer] Posted: 14 Sep, 2018 @ 8:04am I am really sorry about the bugs, today I am going to release in its current state. My second year in college started, I am really tired of this game and the bugs that I have 0 understanding of why they happen. Its my first game on steam after all, and I will work hard on another game in a genre that I think I will enjoy making and simpler in execution.
With the money he still make, he could employ someone that could correct all his mess, but... NOOO, let's still sell a broken game to people.

I won't say it's a great game but I enjoyed it. It's a 2D wanna be ''Dark Souls'' game but way buggier in terms of combat. Don't expect to understand the combat in the first few minutes. You only have light and heavy atack and three slots for spells, you start with only two at the begining of the game. You won't be able to kill the deathworms and the final boss that has two phases that are alike.

"Chamber of Darkness" is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one is very badly, haphazardly assembled from basic GameMaker Studio platformer functions, to the point it barely works. This is a brawler centric platformer, but there's so many defects in it, I'd rather just get into those... after all, fine plot points are irrelevant when gamers never really played the game seriously. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possibl…

Chamber of Darkness is a side-scrolling action game developed by The Crow Studios and published by GrabTheGames. Built around a dark fantasy premise and a combat system with unusual risk-reward mechanics, the game combines elements of classic beat-’em-up design with light platforming and ability customization. The experience unfolds within the walls of a cursed medieval fortress where danger lurks in every corridor, and the protagonist’s own weapon becomes both a powerful ally and a constant threat to survival. While the game draws inspiration from retro action titles, it attempts to introduce a few distinctive mechanics that change how players approach combat and resource management. The story follows a lone knight who has become bound to a mysterious and sinister weapon: a cursed spear that feeds on blood. The weapon grants tremendous power but demands a terrible price in return. If the spear is not regularly nourished through combat, it begins to consume the life force of its wielder. This premise creates a grim motivation for the protagonist’s journey through the haunted castle and its surrounding lands. The knight fights not only to survive the endless waves of monsters but a…

Definitely do not recommend, it is a buggy mess, not even fun to play ironically. Devil's advocate though, the vine pumping animation on the wall is kinda cool, and the little character's helmet in the corner takes damage as the health gets lower, pretty normal nowadays but its a neat touch.
