About Darling, Darling... Dead?

Yandere x yandere x yandere: one must go.

Yandere x yandere, a vampire-themed Visual Novel.Summary:

Today is the day when you’re totally, definitely, for sure, going to break up with your... not quite lover. You expect contempt, an argument, or a complete lack of reaction, but what you get is—

A murder attempt* and a proposal?!

*you might or might not be an unreliable narratorWhat’s in store:
  • Not safe, not sane, but definitely consensual yandere romance
  • Customizable yandere protagonist (name, sprite)
  • Two (2) yandere love interests
  • Over 60k words, approximately 5-8 hours of playthrough (depending on your reading speed) for 100% completion
  • Two Playable Modes:
  • Story Mode:
  • Main storyline with only the relevant POVs unlocked,
  • 3 out of 8 endings available
  • Exploration Mode:
    • 3 routes (X, Levon, mixed) with 2 branches per route,
    • Multiple branches of varying lengths,
    • Unlockable achievements,
    • In-game guide included in achievements, after completing one ending,
    • All  POVs unlocked on replay for corresponding scenes,
    • 9 CGs and 13 item images
  • Characters:

    MC:
A bitten vampire, saved by Levon from a group of monster hunters. Sheltered in the mansion of Levon’s soon-to-be (dead) betrothed, MC developed a label-less relationship with his/her/their savior, which grew strained over the years. Currently working as a monster hunter.
    Levon de Nisau:
Coming from a lowly background, Levon rose to power and fortune by the means of inheritance. Merciless, selfish, and oftentimes harsh, he used to navigate life by adopting a charismatic social butterfly persona. Now, being one of the richest and most affluent men in the country, he no longer bothers with such pretense.

X:                                   Formerly an orphan MC saved from being killed in the witch trials, now a young man who refuses to seek a better future for himself, stubbornly staying in Levon’s mansion as a servant. Despite that, X is rather cocky and brash, even towards his employer.Credits:

    ✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's atmospheric art style, eerie music, and compelling character dynamics between the obsessive love interests, with the multiple POV replays and unlockable content adding replay value. However, critics feel the plot is underdeveloped and lacks depth, with the main characters feeling surface-level despite their appeal, making the experience feel more like a short daydream than a substantial game purchase.

ITS NOT TERRIBLE. i enjoyed playing it but the plot seems kind of ... lack luster and the characters, mc and the two love interests, are great on a surface level but they dont feel fully fleshed out!! ITS A CUTE LITTLE GAME but seems very flimsy plot wise. it feels more like a daydream than an actual game to purchase; i hope it updates to become more depthy :/

There's a creeping claustrophobia here. The art is shadowy; details and anyone outside of our main three characters fade into the dim background. And the eerie music draws you into it, perfectly setting the tone for this obsessive game. This is a story that grows with each replay-- not only does each new ending reveal new facets of the characters, but you can unlock different POVs and learn more about what is actually motivating things. (The keyhole scene is particularly great from each POV). The interplay between Levon and X and the ways they respond to our main character is delicious. I can't decide who I prefer. Each is compelling (and terrible) in their own way. At times, this game reminds me of Ebon Light (with the carefully limited player perspective, dark backgrounds, and hint of madness), though Darling, Darling... Dead? is a more concise and overall darker story. Pay attention to TWs, but I'd recommend this for anyone who wants a gothic otome. ETA: After 100%ing the game, I still wholeheartedly recommend it. Replaying to access some of the POVs you unlock can be a bit tedious, but you can skip your way through previously read text using ctrl.

definitely dark. it's not wrong to say it's yandere x yandere, and the design is very nice! more MC customization options would be nice, but it's short and cute and I'm glad I got it because I did enjoy playing it and reading the extra POV's, ahahaha
