Another great rail-shooter game! I can see that this game took inspiration from The House of The Dead: Scarlet Dawn. Took me 20 minutes to finish the game, 57 minutes to check every nook and cranny within the game. It has online co-op (Didn't try cuz I have no friends that have this game) What I found cool about this game is that you can hook it up with a real lightgun (Fully supported with Sinden) which makes it feel like an actual rail-shooter arcade game. It's still in early access so there's a few stages you can play. Might play it again once it's fully released but for now I will wait and anticipate for what's to come. Definitely buy this game if you're a huge fan of rail-shooter arcade games such as myself.1 found this helpful
You're much better off buying this than EITHER of the HOTD remakes. This game rocks, and feels like a real love letter to the rail shooters of old.1 found this helpful
nice little throwback to games like house of the dead which i very much love!!
Works via CROSSOVER on MAC OS!
Rating
3/10
Intro
Even putting aside the fact that it hasn't been updated for over 2 years, it simply isn't fun to play and lacks polish. More often than not, the difficulty comes from the abundance of zombies, the fact that you'll run out of ammo for non-pistol weapons and the fact that's really easy to get hit if you so much as miss one shot. Rather than your accuracy being put to the test. You're better off playing Blue Estate and The House of the Dead: Overkill instead.
Positives
+ Good soundtrack. + Good enemy variety. + Good aesthetics and graphics.
Negatives
- Only three weapons. - Unbalanced difficulty. - Weapons lack impact. - No couch cooperative. - No voice acting for the level-specific dialogue.
Dead Containment is a focused, arcade-style shooter that proudly leans into the traditions of classic light-gun games while adapting them for a modern PC audience. Developed and published by Grump Dog Games, it strips the experience down to its essentials: relentless forward motion, constant threats, and the pure satisfaction of precise shooting. Rather than offering open exploration or complex systems, the game commits fully to an on-rails structure, automatically guiding players through infected environments and allowing them to concentrate entirely on aim, timing, and survival. This design choice immediately establishes the game’s identity as a fast, score-driven experience meant to be replayed and mastered rather than slowly consumed. The core gameplay revolves around clearing waves of zombies and mutated enemies as they flood the screen from multiple angles. Encounters are intense and deliberately paced to keep pressure high, rewarding quick reactions and accuracy. Headshots, rapid eliminations, and uninterrupted kill streaks feed into combo multipliers that directly affect scoring, encouraging players to refine their technique rather than simply spraying bullets.
