Dead Pixels

I originally played this game on the Xbox 360 when indie games were available on the 360 marketplace back in the day as a kid. And I honestly thought I would never be able to play it again, but to my absolute fortune I find its been archived and released on steam and I couldnt be happier with my expierence. Really addicting, satisfying mechanics and roguelike elements and eons of replayability all for a whopping 3 bucks couldnt be more of a steal. That being said however.. this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ balls to the wall HARD. Theres a huge amount of challenge from the get-go but nontheless it is an amazing little game. 100% reccomend this if you want a little zombie themed shoot em up roguelike.

I don't really remember a whole lot but I am going back through my catalogue of games on Steam that I played and finished but I do remember this was a lot of fun.

Decent indie game. It's not overly complicated. It reminds me of an old Newgrounds shoot 'em up. Fun to kill some time with, especially when you're in-between bigger games.

Weird gem on the internet. Picked this one up as a kid since it was cheap enough I could buy it. Couch co op was a nice surprise and it effectively captures the 80's zombie scene.

Apparently I got and played this game the month it came out 14 years ago... Installing and playing it again after all that time today I legitimately don't know why. It's (still?) only $3, has a variety of modes, the presentation is kind of cool, and the dev has continued to update it for more than 10 years(!?) including apparently natively porting it to Linux at some point, but none of that changes the fact that this is just a bad game. Among other things hitboxes are super dubious (generous?) so you can trivialize the game just by being above or below an enemy and spamming melee attack over and over again... or you know, just ignoring enemies and running away, looting and buying medkits and skills. I also was dealing with crashing every like 5-10 minutes on Win11 (have Linux systems but too lazy to check if that's better). In particular every time I looked at skills in the shop the game would crash within a minute. I'm assuming this was a .net problem but the usual ways to resolve those didn't stop the game from crashing. I kind of forgot how bad .net is now that I spend so little time on Windows... Almost makes me want to go back and apologize to all the unity slop I've played a…
