About Dead Oculus
Dead Oculus is a brutal bullet-hell roguelike where you unleash devastating weapon and augment combinations across handcrafted arenas, with over a quadrillion possible builds ensuring wildly different power synergies every run. Master deep combat mechanics to express raw skill, unlock new harder runs and zones by completing challenges, and grow your eyeball collection to access fresh weapons, boons, and modifiers.
MEANINGFUL BUILD VARIETY
Dead Oculus has over a quadrillion possible build combinations. Boons are designed to mechanically relate to each other, which ensures meaningful, new, and outrageously powerful synergies on every run. However, instead of limiting your hero’s strength, Dead Oculus offers challenges to match your power level. You will become overpowered, but so will your enemies.EXTREME SKILL EXPRESSION
Although Dead Oculus allows you to assemble godlike builds, you are never reliant on them to win. While difficult, a player with great skill can theoretically beat the game without ever taking a hit. Dead Oculus offers a deep input system which allows for a high level of skill expression.CHOOSE YOUR RUN
Dead Oculus is a roguelike, but your journey only starts after you complete your first run. Every completed zone unlocks a new, harder run with new enemy types, modifiers, and/or difficulty levels. If you finish zones without having your eyes gouged, you add them to your eyeball collection! The larger your eyeball collection grows, the more weapons, boons, and challenge zones you unlock.Dead Oculus features an original soundtrack by HaultWhat Steam players say

Players love the game's satisfying core gameplay and unique appeal, with many praising it as engaging and fun to play. However, there's frustration with the difficulty balance, where late-game missions feel arbitrarily punishing without significant grinding, compounded by unfair mechanics like lack of invincibility frames and poor enemy placement that relies on luck rather than skill. The game has decent graphics and audio but is best suited for players with patience for mastery-focused, skill-intensive challenges.

i love this game
It's a good game at first, but unless you're playing with TAS, or have absurdly inhuman reflexes, half of the missions feel impossible unless you spend hours and hours of your time grinding away just to be able to play the game. There's straight up some things that you just can't do and your experience mostly just depends on luck. For example, when the gold zones for the invincible enemies appear, the zones almost always appear directly underneath the enemies you literally can't kill. Which means you either have to run away to lure them, (losing literally all of your percentage progress), or say screw it and run right in. Due to the fact that this game has no I-frames unless you have a boon for it, your health goes from 10 directly down to 5 because 5 bullets hit you at the same time. Overall, cool concept, nice graphics, runs pretty well on a mediocre computer. Would I recommend it? To somebody who has no life and is willing to spend days of their life on this game. Any other gamers? Absolutely not. P.S, I'm leaving a positive review because for the most part, it's not badly designed, it's just not for casual gamers.
